Richard Pitino has accepted the job as the next head coach at Minnesota. Moving up pretty fast. He has been an assistant at Florida and Louisville, and associate head coach at Louisville. Took a team to their first winning season in 13 years in his first year there as head coach. Now he has taken the job at Minnesota at only 30 years old. Following daddy's footsteps? I'll be the first to say that I am excited to set back and see how he progresses. Providing he proves himself and I see the same fire of his father, I wouldn't mind to see him back at Kentucky whenever Cal leaves/retires.

Minnesota fired Tubby Smith to hire a snot-nosed kid. They deserve the hell that they are going to be living in.

So you fire a coach that has won a national championship for a 30 year old kid who has one year of head coaching experience at FIU and went 18-15?

It's all about the last name and the age. Richard had ONE decent season and now he's ready for the big boys? Minnesota will struggle next year I think they are losing a lot

No worse than Kentucky firing that same National Championship coach for Billy Gillespie. Oh I forgot...10 losses aren't up to UK standards. My bad.
