What if this guy steps up like McRae did last season, or even close to it? That would be huge, especially if Mayman keeps gaining strength. I think Mayman just lost so much strength after the injury, it is still an impediment to him this year. No wonder he couldn't go last year.

Three players scored 20 and Barton hit 14, I think. Good win and badly needed.

good to see. This came out of nowhere with him getting off 1 shot attempt just a couple of games ago. No doubt he was trying to see how he fit into the offense, standing and watching others, and evidently CM directed him to stop thinking, attack, and shoot the 3 ball he's been working on for 2 years.
He's a guy that needs turn and go if he gets a defensive board and attack on the other end everytime. He can finish or hit somebody for a trailing 3. He gets in such a good frame of mind when he's hopping around and playing aggressive .

You don't think so? I do. He looks much better this year. Much improved in his confidence, scoring and presence on the court.

Sorry, it was sarcasm.

I'm in full agreement with you, he has progressed a ton since the day he stepped on campus. I'm excited to see him next year when he has a major scoring role on the team.

I would like to see us clearing out the area for him to come across the middle and put up that soft 15 footer. He can really hit that shot.

With all mid range jumpers though, I would like to see him work on his 3 point shot or something.

Do you think his success the last two games is linked to pushing the pace more. Barton has also seemed more comfortable.

If Josh can keep this up, the transition next year without Jordy becomes a little easier.

Absolutely, it's no coincidence. However to act as though he magically became this 20 point contributor, 40% three point shooter is a bit facetious.

As Sparty has been harping on all season, the majority of our roster plays better when we play with some tempo. Next step for josh is to stay out of foul trouble, he should've broke 30 tonight.

we've found ways to get him heading to the basket with a lane the last 2 games that we didn't in the first 11. He's a slasher that can get to the rim and until the last 2 games, the offense and plan we were rolling with didn't give him those opportunities.
Against Xavier, wake, wich st, nc state the was 5-15 in those 4 of 5 games prior to Morehead. He now has 22 shot attempts in his last 2 and sat out a great deal tonight in foul trouble, or he would've had 4-5 more attempts.
Been begging for CM to let Jrich attack the rim and create ways for it to happen.

Would like to see more ball hand offs for J-Rich and Hubbs with their first step

I agree 100%, his 3pt shot has improved greatly too. Just saying if he keeps it up next will be a little easier transition, than we first thought.

he's not a pick and roll guy. Just give him a crease somehow and get out of the way.
Hubbs is reminding me of Vincent Yarborough right now. Limited handles, can jump, can shoot ok, but seems like he's limited right now to a baseline game

Hubbs played post in high school which is why he's limited right now.

We also don't call plays for him. I 'd love to see a play or two called for him (a ball hand off, a double screen for shot, etc.) and get him in a rhythm.

Which would be alright if we had a pg that could attack the lane and dish to Hubbs cutting the baseline. I played with a guy that got 4-5 buckets a game from me driving drawing the d, and him just running the baseline.

Josh Richardson kind of looks like my brother in law. Oh and he played a hell of a game tonight too.
