Via twitter: Bryan Fischer says a high ranking A&M insider told him Richt declined Ags' offer and Kevin Sumlin is likely choice, announcement as soon as Saturday.

Did A&M really think he would? Foolish on their part.

If I were an Aggie I'd be disappointed with the way this search has played out.

You think with them joining the SEC they would have better options than Sumlin.

Richt declined the Aggies because he is heading to Penn State, Penn State seems to want him real bad and will double whatever UGA is paying him.

I agree it's foolish if true. I knew his name was being thrown around but it seems that's just how the coaching carousel goes.

I think Penn St. will hire a coach already on staff. President said it would be foolish to pay high dollar for a coach right now

It may be foolish, but it's in their best interest if they want to win, I think he would be good in the Big 10, if he sticks around UGA too much longer, you will see another Fulmer repeat, their careers are the exact same.

And according to history, after getting into the SEC Champ and losing to LSU, he is slated to go to 5-7 this coming year.

They interviewed Smart, Fedora (took UNC job), Sumlin and Troy Calhoun but those are just the coaches I've read about. Sometimes you don't always get exactly who you want.

Sumlin is not a good fit for the Sec. It would have been a lot better hire if they were still in the big 12. Sumlin better get a big time dc

I wonder if there is any fallout with recruiting.

We hope that there is at least one casualty...Otis Jacobs. He is a 4 star JUCO CB with lightning speed, who is currently committed to A&M but is looking hard at us.

I'm a Mark Richt fan and I think he would have been a decent hire for A&M. But it wouldn't have been good for Richt though. Tough division. If Georgia ever fires him, I hope he goes somewhere appreciative of its' coaches.

You wish. You should think about moving.
