Sparked my interest. The only teams to lose to both Kentucky and Vanderbilt since 1975 were the '98 and '99 South Carolina teams. Now joined by '06 Georgia. Not to pile on . . . but honestly, in the last 30 years I wonder how many teams have lost to both Kentucky and Vandy in the same year??
The scary thing for UGA is that they are 6-4 with Auburn and Ga Tech looming. At this point, winning either one of those would seem like a miracle.
they are basically doing exactly what we did last year. it will be interesting to see how UGA comes out next year. i would be surprised if they don't come out next year and are a lot better.I may be proven wrong next year, but I see this as possibly holding Richt back from being a GREAT coach. Even Fulmer made changes after a similar season, and people STILL berate him for being too loyal to his coaches. Look for this attitude to drop Richt down on the "great" coaches list. I think he's been coaching in the SEC long enough now for me to compare him to CPF, and 6 months ago he would have been leading... now I say Fulmer.
It's easy to presume that both Kentucky and Vanderbilt, 2006 editions, are the same old crappy bottom-dwellers. Vanderbilt still beat the Dogs between the Hedges, and certainly gave Florida all they wanted. Kentucky is 5-4 with 3 games to go (last year, after 9 games, they were 2-7), and, with probation behind them, are in a good place to go to their first bowl in a while. The could also end up 3rd in the SEC East.Ouch! :mf_surrender:
