Some quick items from Georgia coach Mark Richts Sunday evening teleconference:
On his name being mentioned as a possible candidate at Miami, where he played quarterback: I dont think it will be a distraction because Ive got the same answer for that as I had for the other one (Colorado). Georgias my home and its where I want to finish my career.
Asked if hes been approached by Miami or would entertain it if he were, Richt said he has not been.
Pressed again if he would entertain talking about the job with Miami, he said: Just like Ive been saying, men, Georgias my home and thats where I want to be. I dont think youve got to go any farther than that.
Richt said he fully expects to be Georgias coach next season. Absolutely.
On whether he is considering any changes to his staff now. Am I considering changes on the staff? No.
On whether fan criticism of offensive coordinator Mike Bobo was a bit unfair. All I can say, if Im not mistaken, we broke some kind of school record of consecutive games of over 30 points and a lot of really good things happened offensively. The bottom line is whoever calls plays is going to get critiqued, theyre going to get criticized. Its just the nature of the beast.
Richt said playcallers are bound to get criticized at every level, whether its the NFL, high school or pee-wee football.
Asked if barring anything unforeseen, he wants Bobo to be the playcaller going forward, Richt said: Yes.
