Rick played an OUTSTANDING game today against the 'Dores. To GaVol- I give the offensive coaches a lot of credit today to move Clausen into Three Step Drops, running shorter crossing routes to keep the heat off of an inexperianced QB. This was a new concept for our coaches that gave our players the chance USE their athletic skills. Nice job on offense, now where did the D go? :td:

Exactly, where was the D?

The one complaint I have with Chavis coached defenses is that they give up when we get a big lead (like in SoCar 3 weeks ago).

A lot of people used to rip Majors for going conservative when he got a lead.

And rightly so, Majors with a lead was more conservative than Falwell at a Gay Pride convention!

Clausen did ok and the staff did call a good game but it was Vandy, I know the D left them in the game but we should have scored 50pts on Vandy

That's asking a lot from a QB who went into the Vandy game having started only one game in his career.

I think Rick is a good decision maker and a smart qb but he does not have the arm strength to make big plays. I honestly was suprised by his play today and thought he did an outstanding job and if he plays like that against Ky he should get all of the credit in the world considering his lack of experience. But if he play's against Auburn we might be in big trouble because every ball he throws that goes over 7 yards hangs in the air for an awful long time. Like I said though this is not a knock at him HE PLAYED GREAT today but I just do not think he has the athletic ability at qb that we will need to win the SEC.

3rd stringer or not with the recievers we have and the running game we are supposed to have 50 pts on Vandy is not too much to ask on the other hand giving up 30 pts to Vandy is a disgrace but that is why I say the SEC is so tough the ones who aren't suppossed to usually do look at Miss St and Ol Miss and what about KY pulling it out on Vandy when Vandy should have had that one

I thought that's what you meant, but I wanted to make sure.

But I do think Chavis goes soft too often when we get a big lead. And with someone of Clausen's talent and experience, we need the D to be swarming and unrelenting.
