I watched it. The reception from the crowd was icy. Kind of awkward actually.

big fan of gervais. the people complaining are also the ones that take themselves so seriously that they can't laugh at themselves. some people really need to get a sense of humor.

Haven't watched it yet, but it's hard to have a sense of humor if he dissed their religion in any way.

He said: "jim carrey is a heterosexual man playing a gay man which is the complete opposite of some famous scientologist." Aka John Travolta.

My biggest complaint is that it was the same stick he pulled last year. That got old quick, this time was more agonizing just because it was repetitive.

Nikki Finke liveblogged the whole affair, she loved Gervais. She had some interesting things to say about how corrupt the Golden Globes are.

Hey, Robert De Niro laughed at Gervais so screw the rest of Hollywood. If he can appease De Niro he's good with me.

I saw the bites and thought they were great. I loved the Sex and the City, "For Christ sakes, I saw one of you on Bonanza" comment.

When he was talking about the Walking Dead the camera immediately panned to Steve Buscemi. I don't know if Gervais arranged the shot for use during his schtick or if was purely coincidence.
