How can we run the read option when our QB cant and wont run? Would you like to see us finish the season giving dobbs or fergurson rest of season to gain experience? Thanks for your answers mine is yes give them the ball.

Yep the read option with a true freshman QB is going to solve all of our offense issues. We will score every play on offense!!!

Obviously Butch Jones feels Worley is the best QB for the job right now. Let him bring in his recruits over the next couple years, and lets see how his system works. We either start winning or we turn into Michigan when Dick Rod was there.

It's simple really. If they were ready butch would play them. They aren't, so he isn't. Until they are we are stuck with Worleybird.

No. Our redshirt freshman, who neither could beat out at this point, who has been a college QB a year longer, and who had all Spring with Butch and the new offense, was clearly not ready.

I'll defer to the professional who sees and evaluates these guys every single day and who would probably put his mother out there if she would help him win a game.

They'll play when they're ready..... here's to hoping they're ready really soon.

Worley just started his 7th game for the Vols.
Coaches are trying to tailor the game to what he can do.
Give him a break.

Unfortunately, the fact that Worley is our best option at QB speaks volumes about where the program is at. If Worley is the starting QB next year then CBJ will be on the dooley train - 3 and out.

Yet another dumb thread wanting to start the 4th string qb because he can run. Hey remember what happened when we started the 2nd string qb who was more mobile? That went well.

I agree, he needs a break. Holding a clip board should count as a break IMO. Seriously though, if he is the best we have at this point there's nothing we can do but be patient. Seems like we've been " being patient" for years now. Anyone know when we can stop all this be patient crap? :)

Yeah, if only we could have run the ball Saturday. I mean a paltry 300 yards rushing. Pitiful. Running plays also involve checks and assignments that are made by the QB. Remember Peterman's first play in the Florida game. Wrong run call/check was made. Worley done that yet? Good chance that will happen again if we have a true freshman QB taking snaps.

I think alot of people miss that point. Worley did not get much PT at all with Bray here. Even in blowouts, Bray was allowed to stay in to pad his stats. The kid is now trying to learn another new offense and he is not a tuck the ball and run kind of QB. He will get better as the year goes on. As the WR's/TE's get better/more reps, so will the passing stats.

If you came into the season expecting 7+ wins you're probably misleading yourself. Yes, we are rebuilding, yes this not a good SEC team, yes we need several great recruiting classes and some luck to be competitive again and yes we all need to be patient and know it will happen, but not overnight.

Worley ran twice on Sat picking up 13 & 10 yds I believe...not sure why he hasn't done this before!
