This kid is a police report waiting to happen. Ridgeland is nothing but a school full of gangs and emos.

LMAO, did you got to Ridgeland, i dont think so. I did class of 01. There are no gangs at RHS. Gangs are in Chattanooga not in Rossville, GA. You need to check your sources before you start talkn bs. Gangs, LMAO........
Well now I understand why you would make false statements about RHS, you went to LFO. Class of 01'
I've known plenty of people that have went to RHS and told me things, and heard plenty of stories about somw things that go on there. Isn't there some type of death due to drugs or something like that just about every year? There is usually some type of bad press against Ridgeland in te paper just about every year. Maybe this kid is didfferent than others in the school, but his brother had his share of problems as well.

this one got off track real quick. can't we all just agree that all of NW GA sux and may breed possible gang activity?
anyways GaBoi, if mike bowman wants to go to UGA let him go. the members of Volnation would hate to interfere with he and UGA's apparent love affair.
There is trouble at every public high school but all these gangs and thug comments are ridicolous. If im not mistaken it was a few footballl players from a Chattanooga school that confronted Ridgeland football players right after a game on Ridgeland football field. Now you tell me where the trouble kids are.
Bowman probably ends up at UGA, but maybe we can get lucky and lure him. I have seen him play a few times. He is a beast and probably better at this stage than Adarius. Ridgeland isn't a great team and plays in a weaker region, but he is a definite 4 star player.
Ridgeland is not a great team but a good team. But far as the region goes, Ridgeland was not in a weak region. Rome quarterfinalist in the state, Dalton well there always good, Northwest Whitfield 2nd round in the state. This is Georgia AAAA football. No region is week in 4A. You must no know much about GA football
Lakeview hasn't been good for about 3-4 years now.
Ringgold just now started becoming decent last year, they should be really good this year.
SE Whitfield...haha!
Lafayette? Are you kidding me. It's a pretty patsy region if you ask me. Rome, Dalton, and NW Whitfield are the only schools worth talking about. Though Ridgeland will probably beat Dalton and NW this year.
Lafayette was never in 4A, ringgold has always been a down team. There were ten teams in this region and you only speak of two sorry teams. Every region has a couple of cake walks, but the top teams in the region are always good and make a move in the state playoffs. You must be from TN where every region is a cake walk other than the private schools. Dalton and Rome have both made the semifinals this decade and are always making run in the playoffs. NW as well. This region along was stronger than any region in Chattanooga. But this year Ridgeland has been moved to 3A and will cakewalk thru the north subregion but will have trouble with other teams such as Cartersville( donovan tate school), Carrolton, Cedertown. These schools are in the south subregion and are always tough. The further south you go in GA, the deeper the competition gets.
Three schools make runs at playoffs, wow! I went to Lakeview so I know how bad the region is.

Mike Bowman fit to be Tide
by Scott Herpst
The top-ranked wide receiver in the state of Georgia won't be playing college football in the state of Georgia.
Ridgeland senior Mike Bowman made it official Saturday night, making a solid commitment to coach Nick Saban and the University of Alabama.
Bowman made the decision while on a visit to Tuscaloosa over the weekend.
"The decision had a lot to do with football," explained Bowman, who has caught five passes for 132 yards and a touchdown in three games so far this season, "but mostly it was all about my academics. Coach Saban kept it real for me about life in college and life outside of college."
The 6-foot-5, 210-pounder, the top-ranked receiver in the state according to Rivals.com, had offers from top programs all over the country.
Last month he stated that Alabama, Georgia and LSU were his top three choices, but said definitively on Sunday that he would not be taking any more official visits.
"I'm done with recruiting," he said. "I'm Alabama all the way."
Ridgeland head coach Mark Mariakis said Bowman's best years are still ahead of him.
"It's like I told Alabama and everyone else that's recruited him, last year was the first time he's played a complete football season," he said. "He's really learned how to use his body on routes now. Alabama's getting a competitor, an athlete and a guy that hates to lose."
Bowman got on the radar after 680 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns as a junior, but exploded on the recruiting scene this summer following several outstanding camp and combine performances, including one in Tuscaloosa that caught everyone's eye.
"He really shined at those combines," Mariakis added. "He proved himself throughout the Southeast that he's one of the elite receivers in the nation. He doesn't mind the pressure and loves being the go-to guy. He'll do very well in college."
Bowman said he loved the atmosphere that surrounds football at Alabama.
"It's nice down there," he said. "The fans already love me there and I don't even go there yet."
He added that he has already struck up a relationship with Alabama freshman standout Julio Jones, who was one of the top wide receivers prospects in the country last year.
"I got to talk to him for a while down there," he added. "He was really straightforward with me too. It's going to be great playing with him."
Region has changed this year. We don't have to worry about Dalton, NW Whitfield or Rome. Ridgeland's QB got hurt so they have struggled. Lafayette is 3-1 and the Coach's son has committed to South Florida I think.
