Seems to me that the media is paying more attention to UT winning than to OU losing. Or perhaps they're paying absolutely no attention to the fact UAB is no pushover. I don't get it. I swear you'd think UT had lost the game by what ESPN is talking about. :disappointed:

Yes, UAB is underrated by ESPN. Definitley among the best non-BCS conference teams.

UAB vs. TCU would sell out in a heartbeat. Although, I think TCU would take it.

Maybe. UAB tried real hard, and while TCU did too, I think figuring out how to stop Oklahoma was pretty easy in retrospect. The Sooners don't have a passing game right now and Peterson looked his age without a stellar passing game to stretch out the oppossing defense. I now more than ever think this is really Texas' year to take the Big 12, I wouldn't be suprised to see Oklahoma finish outside the top 3 in the Big 12 South by season's end unless they straighten out their pass game.

Stopping UAB with a simple scheme wouldn't be so easy... I'd take UAB in that matchup, honestly.

If the Big Orange can step it up and win the Gator and Bengal Tiger games, it should be interesting to hear what the Espn talkin' heads have to say.. I did hear Mark May pick the Vols to win the SEC. Let's all make Mark proud

Did y'all notice on ESPN how "Marcus Vick led No. 8 Virginia Tech to a 20-16 victory at feisty NC State", while " No. 3 Vols survive scare from UAB, escape 17-10"? I guess it's all how you spin it.

NC State had the # 1 ranked D last season! That's why they said it

Still, it's a good point when you look at it from a simple standpoint. A top ten team made it by an unranked team by a touchdown or less.

Yep . . . and even if that's not true, 99% of America believes it to be true.

The point I was TRYING to make was that Vick's team won by fewer points than we did and ESPN marked it down to NC State being "feisty".

I see what you are saying, but I'd say going on the road to NC State in the opener was a lot tougher test.

To ESPN, VT winning by a small margin over NCS is a Bowl victory. IMO NCS gave them the game. Vick jr, is not all that!
I love how ESPN played off his suspension and how he's a new man but went on to mention his Apartment/Condo and his BMW El Ron bought him.(I know what context it was in, But he didnt return any of it did he?)
They (VT) took a page of of Urbans book on this and that. I can really see Leak running that draw bootleg to the outside.
Oh theres a messurment' lets put a camera on Mike Vick to see if its a first down. :disappointed:

I thought the best part of the game was finding out there is a Virginia Tech WR named Hyman......which means when Vick threw an incomplete, the announcer had to say, "Vick just missed hyman", to which I couldn't believe. I heard he was pretty good with those.

LOL

It did get a little ridiculous when they showed Michael Vick walking out of the stadium. They kept the camera on him all the way up the aisle like he was the President or something.

Or the quote from Vick jr about his first start and butterfly's.
Isnt he the man? WOW! Butterflys are for kids. Id guess he has some "hits" to be delievered before he realized his mouth is way big?

We all know that most of the time ESPN talks smack about the vols, they have in the past and will continue to. When ever they seem to report on a story it's always got almost a negitvie spin on it. I think we could have won 99-0 and they would have found something to point out that we did wrong.

Yep, we have a few fans that are always looking for something negative to say. Looks like a bad case of bammer fever.

My animosity toward ESPN is long-standing and well-documented and has NOTHING to do with Bama.

I dunno, that would have been the game for it to happen. NC State's defensive line is comparable to ours and I hear Vick didn't take too much of a licking.
