Cuonzo serves up another epic fail. Just when the basketball team starts to show any sign of hope, they serve this up and remind us all of what a completely inadequate coach he is. Anyone who thinks differently is either a relative or just not real smart. This was a terrible Vandy basketball team that just has a coach who knows how to get the most out of his players.

My only hope is that once Cuonzo is shown the door at the end of the season, the Athletic Dept. quits short changing its fans and spends the money on a good coach. Its a slap in the face to a fan base that is consistently in the top 10 in attendance to not pay top 10 money for someone who can coach. They take the fans for granted and that is a sin that will come back and bite them. Why pay two bad coaches (the one you just hired and the one you just fired) $1.5 million each when we could pay one good one $3 million. Same price, better results.

Frustrating to say the least. Another cold shooting spectacle and Vandy shot great.

If we go the mid major route I have two wants in a coach...I want him to have made the tourney at least once and to be at least a little energetic and bring some excitement.

Reasonable folks will say that coaches get too much credit when their teams win & too much blame when their teams lose.

I think every loss we've had is Cuonzo's fault and most wins we've had are b/c we have players who occasionally overcome their coaching.

Settle for outside shots in a gym with lids on the baskets while having two dominant inside players...

Hard to put blame on anyone in this game man...Tennessee put themselves in a chance to win, but games like this aren't Zo's strong suit and it showed late when UT cut it close. He doesn't know how to coach the close games unfortunately, and his players deserve better IMO...go vols!!!

I said this during the Ole Miss game and got bashed for it, but I honestly believe it.

When we win it's mostly because our talent overpowers the inadequate coaching.

When we lose it's mostly because the terrible coaching is too overwhelming for our talent to overcome. Tonight is a great example. Look at the offense we were running, look at the defense, especially the 1-3-1 that worked well against ole miss but wasn't the best option tonight. How many times did we get burned by an oop while we were in that?

The games we have played our best were the games that we increased the tempo and pushed the ball up the court.

We played slow as hell with that ugly offense tonight against a team that plays 7 guys? Why?
Why wouldn't we increase the pace of play and burn them out?

He's a master at it.
He'll grab another big win and get your hopes up. then 3 games later he'll poop his pants again.
It's DRAMA time in TN.

Because walking it up, losing and nit is what we do. But hey, we only had 8 turnovers and we take pride in taking care of the ball. Screw scoring and basketball. Just play like a ***** and try not to turn it over.
And 5 were from Stokes and Maymon. All getting it to them where they don't want it and walking them into a double team.

I get the impression our players don't like playing for Cuonzo.

Don't think it's that at all. If so, we would not have made the runs the last two years. I think it's scheme and preparation, and the players don't know what to do in certain situations. But that's just me.

I bet we beat Florida and Mizzou and then lose two straight to UGA and TAMU.

Right on cue..That the if we lose that the fire martins will come out of the woods. When we win two in a row they stay silent :banghead2:

In addition to mediocre coaching it seems that some of the players just aren't that good. If they weren't in orange it would probably be more evident to us Vol fans

Barton was a great 3 point shooter and now some games he can't hit anything. Did he just forget how to shoot or does Zo not put him in the best situation to allow him to score?
