The only names I've seen mentioned for QB lately are Worley and Peterman. What is the word on Riley Ferguson? Unless I overlooked him I don't see him on the spring roster.

He's a commit...has not signed NLI and will not be in team till next semester. Still a senior in HS

He is committed to Tennessee and will probably arrive on campus in July. I haven't seen anything about him being an early enrollee.

Either way, he doesn't look to figure into Tennessee's plans for QB next year. Peterman or Worley will start. If at any point next year Ferguson is the starter, than chances are we're in big trouble. Also Butch Jones is recruiting at least one other QB in this class as well.

Ok, the article I read made it seem like he'd be here this year. He's listed as a pocket passer and I heard CBJ was looking for a QB who could run so I don't know how he'd fare anyway.

I'm hoping Worley and Peterman work out so that fergerson gets to red shirt and be the one that carries us into the long haul. Riley has been strong to us and I believe that's promising in itself.

Thought he was more of a dual threat guy ....

CBJ talks about the system adjusting to the players, but from his past outings it seems pretty clear that he prefers a QB who adds a genuine threat of running. So, I think a pocket passer who can legitimately move in space for a few yards will get it done. But, I think eventually we'll see the roster adapt to include mostly dual-threat QBs.

Riley was lookin good in the Elite 11 drills before he injured his hand. Trent Dilfer had high remarks for him. Even though he's listed as a pro style QB, he looked pretty mobile.

Absolutely....listed as pocket passer but Dilfer talked about he having the most upside of any QB there...then the hand injury...If i remember Dilfer talked about his ability to "make things happen" and possessed a ton of intangibles(I think they grow in Florida)...I'm actually pretty excited about him coming to UT....maybe a bit of a slinger as well...

If we get Dobbs, he could be the starter next year. We have a strong chance according to Tom Luginbill
