I guess LSU will make a run at him unfortunately. I am confused why he wouldn’t just sign to the pros. He is doing like a reverse Carter Stewart somewhat.

If he is that good, he will go straight draft. He cannot get the NIL deals that it would take to get him to go to college in US.

It looks like he is graded in the 2nd-3rd round if he went to the pros out of the gate.

He probably wants to prove his ability to hit the high 90s + good off-speed. I think Japan features top 80s, low 90s max with okay off-speed.

Japanese player in Louisiana lol what a culture shock for him....West Coast team will get him very large Japanese fan base...that's why Ohtani chose to play in California...

Any ideas on where that would be?

ASU is no longer a power.
Arizona, maybe.
I can't really see a school like Long Beach/Fullerton/Irvine/Pepperdine landing this type of prospect, but anything is possible.
Oregon/Oregon State? Might be too cold.
USC? Not very good
UCLA? I could see this being a contender.
Stanford? This has to be the top West Coast choice.

Though, I wonder how much he wants to come to the SEC to "prove himself" so to speak after facing mid-talent in Japan.

I have heard that he is projected but has not faced the stuff that most HS guys here in the states face in the summer. Many believe that he will not be able to make the jump. He may not be as hot as many are saying.

We need to see how he does with a lefty throwing 94-97 with tail, a wipeout slider, and a good changeup.
