Damn, just sucks to read this. I remember him from back in the day, growing up as a kid I remember those gator teams, I was around 9 or 10 when he was a senior.
Florida had never been invited to the NCAA basketball tournament, but they made the field during each of Schintztius' three full seasons with the team, advancing to the Sweet Sixteen in 1987.
The fondest memory I'll have of Schintzius is when a Candy fan thought they had the game won and threw a tennis ball at him when Fla had turned the ball over with 2 seconds remaining down by 2. Candy received a technical foul and Schintzius buried both free throws to send the game into OT. Fla ended up winning the game in OT and the SEC regular season title by one game over Candy. LMAO. Talk about karma. Only Candy could do something so stupid and it end up costing them a title.
You knew former UT coach Don Devoe and Schintzius were like mixing oil and water. Would've been fun just to watch those two have to coexist for an entire season.
Blood cancers just like all cancers are a horrible affliction I'll put this website up maybe one of y'all would like to join the bone marrow registry who knows maybe you can save a life one day they especially need mixed race and minority donors but they could use all donors.
