He was a friend of mine...

He, Josh Wollmann and Bailey Goldman were at a party after our football game last night when James was driving them elsewhere. Apparantley all three were intoxicated, and got into a head-on collision at very high speed. James Johnson was found dead at the scene, Josh Wollmann is now in a local hospital in a vegitative state and Bailey Goldman is on life support.

If anything is to be learned here... Don't drink and drive. Everyone here will miss Big James, he was a guy with a good heart. And all our hopes are with the other two.

RIP James "Bubba" Johnson

sorry to hear this milo. You make a good point on alcohol, I enjoy cold beer but never when driving.

Here is the bulletin going around MySpace that better described the situation...

last night 3 teens went to what seemed like a harmless party at another teens house. the 3 got drunk and im sure high, just like they did every other weekend. after they went to the party, they went to a football game. everything was great and they were all having a good time. the game ended and the 3 headed away from the game....

it was a head on collision that no one saw coming. james johnson was pronounced dead at the seen, josh wolmann was taken to emanuel hospital and is now on life support and brain dead (his parents cant come to terms to end his life just yet) and Bailey Goldman is on life support also were still waiting for further results.... so next weekend one some one invites to a party to get "messed up", think about those 3 before you say yes.

RIP James.. and all our prayers is with the other 2

Sorry to hear of the loss. Being in Law Enforcement, I have always taken it different when dealing with drunks. The pain they can inflict on themselves and others is too costly. I have no tolerance for DUI, but a humble reverence for the loss. RIP. You are in the lords hands now.

It's very tragic to lose young and promising lives. It's imperative that us parents out here do everything we can to teach our kids that drinking and driving will not only hurt the kids involved but all those that love them..
