Horrible AD but he was good at raising money. He hired Pearl but hired Kiffin and Dooley. RIP

That’s very sad, prayers for his family. Would someone share what he was doing that was so commendable after his administrative career? (If that sounded sarcastic that’s not my intention, I just don’t know and a google search didn’t turn anything up)

After serving as Athletics Director, he became president of U.S. operations for Blood:Water Mission, a Nashville-based nonprofit that worked to provide clean water and prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS in Africa.

In my opinion the Dooley hire should have been an interim move to put Kippy Brown at the helm and go from there, Kiffen bolted after USC was down to their 7th or 8th choice, with NCAA infractions and probation coming, it wasn't a dream job for most.

Hiring out of sequence and picking from a very thin set of options in January 2010 was a disaster that was very hard to recover from, took the long arm and reach of the NCAA to watch the administration up over there in February 2020 to realize the place was headed for the river.

2010 should have been Kippy’s team to see what he could accomplish. But he was connected to Fulmer and that would have been rather awkward to have Fulmer that close to the football program after getting blown out.
