Weird I just watched him last nite in The Thing he was in some good movies. I thought he was older than his 85 years though seems like he’s been playing a old crusty guy for 50 years.

Weird I just watched him last nite in The Thing he was in some good movies.

I watched that for the first time a few weeks ago. Wish it hadn't taken me that long. Good movie, in no small part thanks to his character. Practical creature effects were great for their time. On a related note, what an incredible run John Carpenter had during that time period. He either made or was involved in so many entertaining flicks.

Also Brimley was 50 playing the part of a guy living in a retirement home. Man knew how to sell oats though.
