I don't worry a great deal about rivals or scout rankings but some people are obsessed with it so.....

Well, it is nice to see them up there on something. Recruiting is important. UT slipped in 06 and 08. And it shows. I like the rankings, though I dont accept them as gospel.

One good thing about having our class near completion this early is that it really gives the staff time to evaluation the 2011 class and spend time on the elite prospects that will fit our system in positions of need.

wait, i think the new rankings are with the Juco's and not with the 3 commitments we had yesterday..
it says we have 9 4 stars, and we have 12 4 stars total.. there were only 2 more added to the list so it must have been the JUCO's.. and not the 3 4 stars from yesterday..
once those 3 from yesterday are put on there we will be top 5 easily.. i think we'll slip all the way down to 4th IMO

I think the CEO is smart enough to realize that we may not get all those to LOI's. They may go elsewhere, or not qualify academically. That said, it would be a wise move to concentrate on replacements as well as the '11 class. Knowing CEO, he probably already has a list!

I found this online. Can anyone elaborate on how many recruits we can sign? According to this, early enrollees can be counted towards last years class which could free up a few more schollys.

NCAA recruiting regulations limit college football teams to signing 25 players to football scholarships each year, with certain exceptions. A team can not sign more than 25 players to scholarships in a given year if it has used the full 25 in the previous year. If the team used fewer than 25 scholarships the previous year, the additional players above 25 for the new season must enroll in December of the year before the football season in which they intend to play. Regardless of how many players a college signs, they must remain below the maximum permitted number of scholarships. Over-signing is done to prepare for the possibility that some players who were offered scholarships fail to qualify academically, or to make up for previous years where the school could not sign their full allotment.

no, it's the jucos that haven't been included because the number of 3 stars doesn't add up either.
