Here's an updated look at the preseason top 25 for 2012-13 - Yahoo! Sports

23. Tennessee

Last season: 19-15 overall, 1-1 in NIT

Key newcomer: SG Armani Moore (3-star prospect from Kennesaw, Ga.)

Buzz: Once PF Jarnell Stokes (who graduated high school early) joined the team Jan. 14, the Vols were a different squad. They finished in a three-way tie for second in the SEC with Florida and Vanderbilt, teams that had vastly more talent. A full season from Stokes should mean another good finish for the Vols, who will return six of their top seven scorers and have a three-man recruiting class of what should be good role players. Stokes and F Jeronne Maymon will be a handful for any opponent in the paint.

Good rankings. KY at 2 is a little high imo. UT at 23 is spot on.

They mention UK in the running for Bennett so I assume that they were thinking there was a chance in landing him. I see them bring preseason 2-10 depending on how they finish recruiting.

I think tennessees actually a bit high, but I'll definitely take it.

Nerlans is better than Davis imo. I know im gonna get burned for this but that dude is a defensive stopper.

I kinda agree in some aspects of his game. Nerlens needs some work on the offensive in, he's nowhere as gifted in ballhandling and shooting as Davis was. Noel will be interesting to watch.

Davis was arguably the biggest defensive game changer in the last, gosh idk 20 years? To EXPECT, Noel to be even better isn't the least bit fair IMO.

He may end up being, but to expect it and to say hell be better that's just not fair IMO.

If Trae and McRae improve, this team has a shot at the sweet sixteen next year.

Completely agree. Davis racked up on the end of the year awards and is the probable #1 draft pick. Hard to say Nerlens will be as good. He has the potential and is a great defensive player, but lacks as much offensive polish as Davis. Basically, its saying anything less than National POY, FOY, and All-SEC awards will be a disappointment for Noel. Just not fair...

Noel is following one of the best players of his generation in Davis. Expectations will be high because everyone knows Noel has unbelievable potential. He needs work offensively, and probably still won't be as good as Davis was, but I think he'll be a defensive force (but won't get the stats AD did). It'll take longer to bring out the potential, but by the end of the year, he'll probably be POY and a first round pick.

Nerlans leaves his feet way too much... He was in foul trouble of an all star game.. No way will he be anything near as good defensively as Davis!

he'll probably be POY.

You wanna make a bet on that?

Davis was the second freshman POY EVER!!! The fact you're saying Noel will PROBABLY also be, and are expecting that is just not smart.

Sure Noel may do it, but odds say that its very unlikely. Infact, it's more likely he's a bust than the POY.
