Alabama has jumped us.. I know it is still early but i hate seeing them ahead of us. Hopefully we can land a few recruits soon. Like to overtake them again, kind of making a statement.

I'm sure Bama is more interesting in making statements on the field. I doubt Saban gives 2 schitz about recruiting rankings.

Thanks for stating the obvious, Sherlock. I'm glad we haven't had you and others point out that irrelevant point hundreds of times prior.

Shut your eyes and don't open back up until after the 2nd week in February.

That would be worse because he would be thinking #1 the whole time only to wake up at 5-7. He'd stroke out. Lol

Being you are on their and Saban's nutz so hard why don't you go post on their message board

Since when?...just stating the obvious. If that's too much to handle then I don't know what to say.

Recruiting rankings really don't mean that much. There isn't any hardware handed out in Feb.

Which is more irrelevant, pointing out a fact or getting worked up over recruiting rankings in August?

We're taking 30-31 with a remarkable number of four stars (probably 15) and newly ranked five star (Hurd). If we land Andoree or some other five star, we are top 5 for sure. I am a bit green when it comes to recruiting but I fully understand Butch has done a tremendous job his first year. GBO.

You people really should have grown up in the 70-90's. No one had heard of recruiting rankings and no one cared!

These are subjective rankings about 17 year olds. Seriously?!

I did (38), and I followed recuiting in the 90's. best I could anyways. Fans have always cared about recruiting, even when we couldn't follow it.

Which is more irrelevant? Are you five, or are you seriously that oblivious? Your obsession over UT football is rather irrelevant -- why don't you just give that up, too?

Exactly. It wasnt as easy to keep up with but still remember those days waiting to hear who Swain, Allen and even Ken Korsey committed to.

I played against Swain and Allen in high school. Jason Allen was a monster for Muscle Shoals.

We all knew this was going to happen. Bama signed Sims (4*) yesterday and squeaked by us. We have a very respectable 3.5 average star rating (with 24 recruits) but Bama has 3.68 with only with 19 recruits. The other teams with avg. star rankings currently higher than us are OSU, UGA (with a whopping 3.81 avg.!), ND, TAM, UF, Auburn, & S.Car. Also, LSU is tied with us at 3.5 but are in on several 5* and could wind up with the best recruiting class of everybody. Interestingly, Kiffen's class also is at 3.5 but USCw is currently ranked 51st! Finally, Clemson & Michigan are in on some big fish.

We could sign somebody this week and jump past Bama for a short while but, again, it will be short lived. Finishing at around #8 or #7 is terrific and at #5 would be unbelievable. More importantly, CBJ has filled key positions of need.

You can say that, but it sure is quite a coincidence how those recruiting rankings follow the national championships.

I'm not interested in being #1 or #25 in some subjective recruiting rankings...

I just want to see some Ws and some hard-fought Ls...

Then more Ws than Ls...
