With the injuries to our secondary, is it possible we will see Jones? Is he healthy? It was my understanding he was the number one or two Juco DB in the country last year? I never see him mentioned now.

Didn't he tear his ACL? OR have some wired Knee/Calf injury preseason.

He had blood clots in his calves, but several weeks ago I believe I saw where Butch said he was cleared and then Jones tweeted he was good to go. We really need this kid/depth against their amazon Wr's this weekend. maybe he is just trying to get back into football shape? I know he is a instant upgrade to Coleman- no disrespect.

I don't really get the deal with Coleman. He showed a lot of promise as a true freshman. He seems to have regressed.

Coleman and Sutton are some of the most sure tacklers at corner I've seen wear orange in a while.

I don't think Coleman has regressed. Seems to be our best option at corner, but in a deep secondary he'd be covering the slot rather than the 1 and 2

If Gaulden comes in and shows as much promise as Sutton, it'll show in Colemans performance as well

I agree with you that he does tackle well but getting burnt deep happens way to often.

I believe it was a blood clot in his lower leg.

Torn calf according to BruiserVol in Injury Report thread on 9/26.

It's old news now, but Riyahd Jones is back practicing. Hope we see him add depth soon. His injury was apparently a torn calf from what I read in a paper. There was no blood clot issue. Doctors thought he might have one and he was given tests which indicated no clot.

Coleman is better suited to play Safety IMO He just doesn't have the speed to play CB effectively . We need someone to step up ,but maybe that's not gonna happen this year . On the bright side , as someone mentioned Justin is an excellent tackler so there's that

Ok, so it looks like he has been back practicing awhile. I just wonder why he hasn't seen the field. I remember he was going to be our quickest and fastest DB.

Yeah, he was hyped.

Medical RS would be my guess.

Maybe he and Maggitt will ball out next season.

health wise, he is ready. He has struggled in practice and showing what he can do. Needs to focus better on his assignments. Not where he can contribute at this point.
