So, Tennessee opened as a 1.5 point FAVORITE for Saturday, and I'm not kidding you ... in less than two hours, Tennessee moved to a 3 point favorite. Not that it matters, but I hate giving any team motivation for being a homedog. Regardless, early betting on UT is good (sharps bet early).

Also, LSU @ Florida opened as a PK, but moved to Florida -2. Can't wait to bet on LSU to win straight up.

I'm not surprised.

Georgia sucks, we play well on the road, and have won 5 of the last 7 in Athens.

Georgia is still a good team. Never underestimate them.

I don't think anyone wants to misunderestimate ( :post-4-1090547912: ) Georgia, but even if they're better than what they showed against Colorado and Mississippi, they're still not very good. Add to that, they'll be rotating 2, maybe 3 QBs, I just don't see them winning.

Georgia is a better team than what they've shown, I don't care what some of you say, they can beat us and if we don't play well enough, they WILL......We won't be 3 point favorites long, I can promise you that....Not between the Hedges...It'll be a tough game next Saturday night and I'm looking forward to it

What makes Georgia a good team?

Their running backs that havent produced against sub-par opponents?

How about their Merry-go-round QB's?

Their Defense? Nope, not if you look at what they've faced. But no one wants to discuss that. I post a thread laying all that out and all I get are sarcastic comments.

That's ok, I'll be happy next week when Georgia is finally exposed for what they are.

Yep.

Can't wait for the game and see where both teams really stand.
Apart from the Big Orange Tailgate gathering, any bars you'd recommend where UT fans may congregate? This is the first year I'm doing the bar thing before the game, instead of parking and tailgating at the car. Also, any suggestion for a sports bar where we can watch the LSU/Florida game?

The only thing that really makes me worried about that game is how bad Mark Richt has owned us since he started coaching in Georgia. Outside that, I don't see any reason why we shouldn't win this game. Except maybe special teams.

What is it they say, "It's not about x's and o's, it's about the Jimmy's and Joe's".

Georgia doesn't have near as many quality "jimmys and joes" as they have in the last few years.

I agree, but he doesn't have David Greene anymore. Mark Richt owning us goes hand in hand with David Greene owning us.

There was ONE sarcastic comment ... and barely sarcastic at that. People are entitled to disagree with you (not that I disagree, still evaluating the defense). Don't get upset with them. Just keep doing your research and be confident in it. When you get your feelings hurt, it takes the fun out of discussion.

When you assume things, well, nevermind.

My feelings aren't hurt, but if Tid or anyone else is gonna make a comment without reading the thread throughly then it's not much of a reply.

I'm still waiting for him or some of the others here to tell me what makes Georgia so great. The problem is, they can't do it. Georgia is awful.

You can say that Richt owns us all you want, you can talk about UGA winning 4 of 5, but I can bring up Tennessee has won 5 of the last 7 in Athens. Those things don't mean much when you strap it on and play the game. The way that Georgia and Tennessee have been performing THIS SEASON on the field mean a LOT more and Tennessee is the superior team by far.

I hope you're right!
However, I still am not going to label UGA "not a good" team, particularly at their house. They're still in the top 10. I can't look at the final score of the Colorado and/or Ole Miss game and assume they're sorry. If UT was judged by close wins over mediocre teams (i.e. Air Force) then many could declare us "not a good team." I agree we're more sound than UGA, but an SEC road game is never an assured win (ask Auburn from last week).
Still, I say if we handle things the way we should, we win by 10-15 points.

I don't disagree. Historical records mean 0% when looking at current games.

However, one point I want to make, and its kind of broad, is a comparison of Georgia's defense to Auburn's. Georgia held S.C. to 0 points and 255 total yards. Auburn allowed 17 points and 349 total yards. So far, in the young season, this the only fair comparison to make between these two defenses.

Obviously, Auburn plays no role in this Saturday's game. However, Georgia's defense played much better against S.C. on defense than Auburn, and Auburn was touted with LSU and 1 of the 2 best defenses in the conference.

Air Force is 2-1, not 0-5 or 1-4. They are averaging 28 points per game to Colorado's 9.8 and Mississippi's 12.2

Georgia is VASTLY overrated and anyone that doesn't see that....well, you'll be a very happy camper this time next week.

The SC comparison is a little tough to make since there were literally about 6 or 7 new offensive starters including at QB for SC playing against Auburn.

GaVol made my point for me.

Your comparison of South Carolina-Auburn Georgia- South Carolina just doesn't hold much water VolinAriz.

I would say the Georgia D is still pretty stout. However they will be at the same disadvantage that UT's defense suffered through last year. Their offense will keep them on the field all night.

I have watched several GA games this year. The safeties are not as physical as they used to be, but their front seven are still pretty good. Mobile qb's have given them fits, and UT doesn't have one of those. UT should win this football game, but if they can rattle Ainge, anything can happen.

I don't have a problem with being the favorite. We have beaten the spread in all but one game this year(Air Force). If we keep up the pattern, we will be 5-1 after the UGA game.

I believe it holds more water than your assertions in your other thread. Air Force isn't Colorado, and UAB isn't Cal, etc etc etc.

Georgia's defense has been so inconsistent, we don't which D will show up. Will the D that shutout UAB and S. Carolina show up? Or will the defense that allowed Colorado to shred them show up? You can't say they've been overrated on defense, because nobody knows what to expect.

You're entitled to believe that, but I don't agree.

Their D hasn't been that great period.

Shutting out UAB and the S Carolina team they faced wasn't much of a feat statisiclly or realisticly.

It's true, UAB, Colorado, and Mississippi have poor offenses, but holding any team to 7 or less is good. They haven't been GREAT, but the D hasn't been BAD, either. It's been ... as I said ... inconsistent and average.

I think we hold their PUTRID offense to 14-17 at most. And for you to see how I feel about their D, I think we could easily beat 14-17 from them. Just need to hold off blitzes and give Ainge time.
