I find it extremely funny that such a redneck sounding guy coaches at Vanderbilt.

I'm listening to him right now on 104.5 in Nashville.

I'm not knocking him for sounding like such a hick, just find it funny.

my uncle(by marriage) is a huge vandy fan, has season tickets to football and basketball. he went to one of vandy's scrimmages and talked to Caldwell, he said he is the biggest redneck

On top of that, Bobby Johnson had a redneck sound as well when he spoke. It seems to be a trend in Vandy's coaching selections.

Lots of Nashville bluebloods will throw on a little old south speech affectation, escpecially after a couple of bourbons. It makes you folksy and approachable and it disarms the yankees (used generically to describe anyone who's not from here) so they'll never see it coming when you rip the heart out of their chest in a buisiness transaction.
