Only Dave Hart knows.

Settle in, unless something big changes, it's going to be a couple of weeks.

Thanks DP. I am ok with that. I hope Dave Hart takes his time. If it takes until mid-December, so be it.

Assuming he willing to pay $5-6 million per year, I hope he asks Bob Stoops, Chip Kelley, Jimbo Fisher, Gary Patterson, Will Muschamp, Mike Gundy, Charlie Strong, Dabo Swiney, Shaw at Stanford, for that type of hire. He may get a bunch of "nos", but we only need one " yes". perhaps one of those guys is ready for a chane of scenery; and it would be a huge pay raise for some of those guys.

The negative painting on the rock effected the players negatively more than it did anything for Hart until it made national news. Unless you believe that painting the rock wanting to get Gruden is going to make the first page of yahoo and then espn then it won't do jack crap. Even then it won't matter. By now Hart either has him sealed up or close to it or he's working other options.

I think there is no way in hell we get him. It's just something to do now.

Sorry JH not a single person on ur list IMO is worth 5-6 from day one. Honestly not many are. Saban, Meyer, Harbough, Spurrior are the guys that could demand that kind of money and back it up with little doubt. None of the othe guys can. Now with contract increases to that amount after 2-3 yrs yes but not from day one. I don't even think Gruden is worth that amount but I know that's what it will take.

Harbough or Mora would be 2 that would make me sit up in my chair and listen. .00000001% I think on both of those but I do like the 2.

Hart seems to be one of those people that if you piss him off he will "take his ball and go home" resulting in the exact opposite of what you are hoping to achieve.

Until the official word comes out there's a chance though I agree with you. It's verrrry minuscule but who knows.

I really don't want him. I see us shopping for a new coach in 2-3 yrs if he gets hired. That's just IMHO though.

That is exactly how I feel. Lets just say he comes. If he's great then he'll be gone shortly. If he is just average or poor, then we're just average or poor. No good either. But that's assuming he comes, which I believe he won't.

I am ok with offering 5-6 to Saban, harbough, Meyer...all them would say no. My point being though, I think we have to overpay to get in on that next tier. Admittedly Strong don't belong in that group. But I like him.Mora would be ok.

I think we need to overpay to get one of those top 10-12 type guys versus saving a million and getting Al Golden, Tubberville, Petrino, Franklin, Butch Davis, type level.

I see what u r saying but just can't see any of them bringing us to that winning level even if we throw lots of money at them. We don't need to throw that amount to guys just to get them to come here unles they are truly proven. Around 3-4 should be about right with a 5-6 in their contract after 3-4 yrs automatically if they turn out to do great things.

If they will agree to that, I am all for it.

Let's start with Chip Kelley!
