If I recall correctly, Mr. Roy Clark is from the town of Tazwell. Just on the Tennessee side of the Cumberland Gap, between Middlesboro and Morristown.

Yes - if it had a string, Clark could play it and play it well.

There’s probably a Hee Haw video of Roy playing Orange Blossom Special on fiddle that leads him into a strictly banjo acoustic version of Rocky Top. Gave me goosebumps.
