Just got this email from UTAD …

Greetings from Rocky Top! As we prepare for the start of the 2023 Tennessee Football season we wanted to share exciting news about Wi-Fi within Neyland Stadium.
With work continuing to take place to make RockyTopWiFi operational we did want to inform you that a Wi-Fi access point(s) will be located underneath a seat in your row. We are sharing the photos below to note that the boxes are purposefully installed to allow for leg room for fans seated nearby.
PLEASE NOTE: Providing RockyTopWifi for all fans, will be a work in progress throughout the 2023 season. Fans will see Wi-Fi available around the immediate perimeter of the stadium and at each gate upon arrival to Neyland Stadium to assist with ticket scanning & throughout much of the lower bowl starting with the Austin Peay game. Fans will not see RockyTopWiFi in every section. Please stay tuned for more information and thank you for your patience as we work to bring Wi-Fi to everyone in Neyland Stadium.
Thank you and Go Vols!

I’m not an IT guy but isn’t there a better solution?

There are a myriad of complexities with offering wifi to this many people at one time - as it was explained to me - and this is the only feasible and reasonable solution.

A much better solution would be “no cell phones will work in the stadium” - like 1985- but the younger folks who need to text and Snapchat and etc the whole damn game wouldn’t like that too much.

Did you type that with one hand while you were shaking your fist at a cloud with the other?

I just want to check scores. They won’t even give constant score updates on the ribbon like the old days. Gotta be displaying ads 95% of the time.
