"Obviously, we are disappointed in Rodney's decision," Ray said. "I was looking forward to getting a chance to develop and coach him. This decision, unfortunately, was made before my hire. The Hoods were forthright and honest about where they were when I met with them, and I appreciate their honesty.

"I look forward to putting together a team with the current members, rolling up our sleeves and recruiting new Bulldogs."

The 6-foot-8 Hood averaged 10.3 points and 4.8 rebounds and made the SEC all-freshman team

Suck it, Costigan. :)

Kids a baller, can we trade for him?

Reese and Chievous for Hood, straight up?

Your dislike for Chievous is worrisome. Did he wrong you in a previous life of something? For a guy you have never seen play, you sure do try to throw him under the proverbial bus a lot. Let's let him suit up for at least one game before we pass judgement on the guy. I mean I understand you were joking here, but you keep going back to the well on this. What are you going to do if Chievous turns out to be a good player? Or Reese for that matter?

I agree, but I know he's just kidding.

I expect Reese to be a respectable defensive player and Martin has held on to Chievous for a reason.
Be interesting to see what he's been able to do with a kid with so little experience.

i hate to be that guy but what does this have to do with tennessee basketball?

Tennessee recruited Hood out of HS. Besides, info like this just gets lost in the NCAA forum. You made a choice to be "that guy".

Dude, we know this kind of stuff (Johnson leaving LSU, Marshall to USCe, etc.) goes in Around The NCAA, but it also affects UT bball to an extent, and no one would read it if we posted it in the other forum.

I feel your disdain for improper organization, but we pull this move for a reason. :hi:

Let's assume Hood wants to come to UT and could get a release. Would Martin be better off giving Hood a scholarship or focus on the guys coming out of high school in 2013 class?

Not even going to think about that until Hood indicates any interest in UT whatsoever.
