He gets dropped by locals because generally they have a population that only cares about local sports and he is a national show

Rome, in general, does a good show. He sometimes has extremely long pauses, and his man-crush on ManRam is kind of disturbing, but it's a good show for the most part.

I only listen to Rome's shows for the calls and e-mails, which vary from pretty good to brilliant. Rome's takes and bits vary from crickets to maybe cracking a smile at best.

That said, his radio and TV shows have an LA slant to their coverage in the exact same way that ESPN has an east coast slant. Rome is just like the west coast version of Stephen A Smith.










... I take that back, S.A.S. makes Rome look like Bob Costas.

I heard ESPN radio talking about Lane yesterday and how he is changing the culture around USC, now I may stupid but why would you change, Carroll and USC have had one of the most successful runs in college football the past 10 years.
