Not sure I'd go that far. You really think Romney is the only one who can beat Obama?

I think a lot of people could beat O, but unfortunetly most are not running. Perry is slipping against O in the latest Rasmussen poll

2012 Presidential Matchups - Rasmussen Reports

new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters shows Obama picking up 46% of the vote, while Perry earns support from 39%. Fifteen percent (15%) are either undecided or prefer another candidate. Two weeks ago, Perry was up by three. Three weeks ago, the president held a three-point edge over the governor.

It's bound to. The sad part is that anybody that knows anything acknowledges that it's an appropriate analogy, yet some of his primary opponents are jumping on it as if reading from a Democratic playbook.

It's not even close to a Ponzi scheme. In a PS you have to con people and get them to choose to give you their money. With SS, they just take it from you whether you want in or not. A PS is a lot better than SS.

Has the best chance - I have my doubts about reaction to Perry.

Bachmann, Santorum, Cain, Paul all lose.

Huntsman could beat him but won't get a chance.

Newt is a wild card -

I don't know what it would take for Newt to ever gain any traction but I'd really like to it happen if for no other reason than it would elevate the debate away from one liners designed for applause.

It appears to me that you are right. As I see it, when we have a Republican controlled congress and a democrat in the whitehouse we have the best economy, the least laws and regulations passed, and the fewest foreign interventions. The next best option is a Democrat controlled congress and a Republican whitehouse. One party owning both = epic fail.

For most of my lifetime that's been the case, but right now we aren't seeing any feasible compromises in the best interest of the US. It worked magnificently during the Reagan and Clinton eras.

Huntsman believes in evolution and global climate change - he won't get a shot, but should.
