Dearly beloved SEC faithful,
We are gathered here to pay tribute to a comrade who has fallen in the line of duty...Ron Zook.
Coach Zook...was a giver. He was a man who did nothing but act unselfishly as he gave many SEC schools prominent wins in the conference. He was able to help more careers through his ineptitude on and off the field. He was able to reach out to hardened criminals who thought that they could not get another chance after assaulting students with a beer keg. Zook gave us all so much. His only regret was that he was not able to reach out to the man who needed his help the most...Mark Richt. But Zook had his share of demons. He was unable to release himself from the shadow of the Swamp-god himself, and in the end the curse finished him off.
Coach Sylvester Croom had this to say: "Ron really welcomed me into the SEC. Everyone talked about how much Zook liked to help out his fellow coaches. His passing is sad, as I will never see another coach like him again."
Ron Zook, more than a man, more than a coach, he was an inspiration to us all.
Please feel free to share you thoughts about Coach Zook here, and remember to please do so with respect for our departed brother. Thank You
