This was a really interesting, albeit slightly confusing read on a scheduling option for the SEC.

It is pretty interesting even though it probably would never happen.

Making a 3-3-4-4 team pod system would be a bad idea

I have posted a 4-4-4-4 pod idea for 16 teams, where you'd have 1 permanent opponent, and 1 secondary opponent that you'd play when your permanent opponent's pod rotates into your division. Under that format, you'd get a home-and-home with everyone in six years.

It isn't a terrible idea. But people will get really sick of trying to remember which teams are in both divisions on a year-to-year basis.
