The Lady Vols looked like a different team yesterday than the team we saw on the floor Wednesday night against MTSU. I believe that game was very good for this team. they played from behind lost of the game & dug deep & played hard to win that game. I think that was the beginning of a confidence boost. After a long break from games, and stress from finals we've got a long trip to TX for 2 HUGE games. I hope they got another boost in confidence with the big win against UNC, but realize how tough this TX trip is going to be, which I'm sure they do. I haven't seen any footage of the Longhorns this year, but they are typically a strong team. If the girls play the way they did yesterday, I think they will be fine vs. TX. Our post players looked good vs. UNC and if they can stay out of foul trouble & double down on Griner when we get to Baylor, they may be able to slow her down. I could keep rambling but I'll stop for now.

I agree that the past few games have given us reason to believe the ladies will do well against Texas. Baylor is another story. With Griner's height it is going to be very difficult to keep her off the boards and from scoring. We can beat them but we are going to have to play our best game to date. Taking care of the ball and an agressive defense are critical.

The last two times we've played Baylor we've shot //under 30 percent//, as I recall. Our offense was a joke. It's hard to score inside against Griner, but if you shoot the ball reasonably well from mid-range, and play uptempo, Baylor is beatable. But you have to make some shots--duh.

Yes, we have little to no business trying to score from inside on them. If Simmons can hit the mid-range jumper as well as she did against UNC we'll have a fighting chance. I also believe we have good shooters that can get open to make those mid to long-range shots, particularly if they can continue to move the ball as well as they did yesterday.

Absolutely, but we have to be cautiously aggressive with our defense. If our posts get into any kind of foul trouble we have no chance. If they will play within themselves and not get into to much of a hurry, I think they can keep the turnovers in check.

Really worried we might lose both games in Texas. The Longhorns are much better than last season since adding 6'7" five star player Imani Stafford. They also have a player from Illinois that is shooting over 60 percent from the field. Cokie Reed is 6'4" and looks to finally be in shape. Then there is the girl we let get away Fussell who is averaging 17 ppg. JMO they are far better than anybody we have played this season it is gonna be tough.

Well, you children continue to play, then.

This isn't Hangover 3, don't let "her" fool you...

the Bears will be a tough game for sure.like others have said, one of the keys to be able to win the game, will be our post players staying out of early foul trouble, the mid range game will be very important too, hopefully Spani will get on track and be able to drop some 3s in,the 3 pt shots will be critical also, hopefully they can drop quite a few in,of course Baylors guards play really good basket ball, all 3 of those games will be a challenge for the very young Lady Vols,if they can stay focused,it should be 3 very interesting games

This will provide a good barometer of where our program is right now. Solid play against the top-tier teams will be very encouraging.

Regarding the Adams Apple photo. A remarkable display of ignorance. Many women have this trait. Just look at Chamique Holdsclaw and Tamika Catchings as two examples. Making these assertions without actual proof brings down the validity of this forum and the Moderators shouldn't be allowing it.

One game down. They played well yesterday, I hope we can score by committee again on Tuesday night. It was good to see them utilizing the mid-range shots. I hope they continue this along with getting the 3's to fall. Tuesday night they are going to have to play smart and play well. GBO!!!

Griner is a man, no doubt about that.

Let's assume for sh*ts-n-giggles that you are right. Now let me ask, who cares? The Stanford Lady Cardinal beat Baylor. So can we.

Quit beating this dead horse because it is not going to get you or UT any respect. Instead, let's go out and beat the Bears.

Away from home court, starting three freshmen, playing #3 team in nation. Everything considered, not surprising. Holly will have to take her lumps this year and figure out how she is going to succeed. On a Side note...I still do not understand why there is no 10 second half court clock in the girls game?
