If I'm Meyer, I am putting the screws to them to find out why so much firepower and if they had anything to do with the shooting, at all. Got to put the kibosh on this immediately.

I don't recall anyone mentioning that this is almost exactly what happened to a few of our kids last January or February. And there were arrests. Started a snowball of criticism that I know I need not recount.
Yes, you'd like to put a stop to it immediately.
This is a piece of an entirely different way of thinking for some kids than I, and most likely you, can relate to.
I think it's about re-enforcing that college citizenship is an entirely different animal from the life you may have lived just six months earlier.
Lifestyle changes must be made, an effort must be made to reach out in a different way to a new experience.
What am babbling about? Well, just this. You can't just make a rule and then punish it's infraction. You have to make every effort, across the board, to bring people with diverse life experiences into the "college" mold.

Reading these responses makes me glad all firearms don't need to be registered.

Never should the guns be loaded though. I live alone and still have locks on mine. My guns don't scare me but other peoples do.

I assume you don't have them for protection of person and property. If I kept a gun for person protection, you can bet it would be loaded and very handy. As it is I keep a pole axe closeby.

I'm with ya gator. A college campus is no place for firearms to be cached. Unless of course Richard Speck or Ted Bundy are lurking. Besides, doesn't a football player strike enough fear in the general population with his mere presence? :shades:
