Rumor from local sources is that Aaron Douglas has committed to play football at Tennessee. For those that are not familiar with Aaron he is a 6'7", 250 pound tightend/defensive end from Maryville High school and will be a junior for the 2006 football season. Most coaches feel Aaron will be the #1 player in the state his senior year, 2007. Aarons father is the former Vol offensive lineman and Cincinnati Bengal David Douglas and his mother is the former Lady Vol center Carla Horton.

Another D1 Maryville High school player and junior to be is Steve Shiver. Steve is currently 6'3" and 210 pound safety. Steve is most interested in Florida State. Word is the interest is mutual. Shiver is a leathal hitter from the safety position, and good WR. Just for good measure he threw two TD passes as a Sophomore in the state championship game on a couple of trick plays. Solid prospect is the best way to describe Steve.

Simple..........rightly or wrongly the athletes in this area have largely been ignored by Tennessee for some time going all the way back to the 80's. Here ae some examples.... Alcoa TE in the 80's (name escapes me) to Georgia and San Diego Chargers...Albert David Jr....to Georgia even though he optioned baseball...Carl Stewart...Lee Humphrey just to name a few.

Tennessee has largely ignored Blount county athletes.....again not saying they were right or wrong...and now it's starting to bite them.

LOL. She's just an AVERAGE college student trying to get through. How many college students have breast implants? Did her grants pay for them?
