I would put this up as a poll. Anyone want to speculate on what the new rumors will be going into this week? Any bets? Takers? Who gets fired? Who gets hired? Who leaves early?

First, thank you for not starting another poll. :D

The rumors are definitely going to get wild. If there's any good to come out of this, it is that we are now more likely to get resolution to some of this a lot sooner since there will be no bowl.

The Tennessean made comment on there now not being any hurry to hire an OC (believed to be Cut) since there will be no bowl. So the pace I think will now slow a bit. I think since the OC position is probably filled Fulmer needs to quickly act on any other arrangements before we lose the only thing left worth keeping our heads up on....that's recruiting. The longer this lingers in the media, the worse it could be on the recruiting front.

That's why I'd like to see him go ahead and make the hire in the next couple of weeks so that we can solidify the staff and not get killed in recruiting. If we could get everything in place sometime in December, it would still give us a couple of months until signing day.

he should have already anounced CUT and OC. it is hurting recruiting he needs to get as many people on the road as possible. he needs to make any other coaching changes ASAP to. by waiting he is just hurting the team.

Agree SD. He needs to show some balls. Tell some of these position coaches to take a hike, and let the new OC bring in his staff ASAP.

I am afraid that he is trying to handle every one with kid gloves, but he needs to show his team that he has what it takes to be a leader, and give them a brand new start. That will signify a major change in his leadership style and salvage what is left of this team's psyche.

I agree Lex. He needs to do something visible to everyone to let the world know this ship hasn't sunk. There needs to be something big, respectable and credible to show that things are being righted. Right now the season's down the tubes. He has to address the staff situation and prepare for recruiting. We cannot afford to have a bad year at recruiting at this point. Even though this could happen, a bounceback in this could show the world that UT is not out.

Why is Cutcliff dickering about more money. He's is lucky that we are going to take him back. There are a lot of good young coaches that would fall all over themselves to become OC at UT!!

Come on Smokedog, this is a business.

For real, and considering he'd be making about 1/10 of CPF's salary, it might be hard to swallow, especially knowing what kind of heat he and his family would face if we didn't win a NC in three years. Plus, dude's not in the best of health... maybe he figures if he's going to sacrifice his personal life and maybe his health, it might as well be for some big bucks.

Good because I'd like to subpoena a few receivers to find out what is going on in their heads.

true it is a buisness and fulmer tries to play both cards. in my opinion he hasn't produced the proper results he should go. he would argue that he is from tennessee, played for tennessee, and now coached for tennessee. loyalty and the past is why we should keep him around he can't have it both ways. he hasn't produced since 98 if he was as true tennessee as he says he is he should walk away from the program. if it is from a buisness standpoint he should stay and make money run the team into the ground and get fired. which is what he is going to do. my loyalty is to the university of tennessee and the programs not fulmer. he is not tennessee football. in my opinion we need a total change in the program. he needs to go.

I am still holding out hope that CPF can do something with that stellar recruiting class from last year. I say give him at least one more year. I think he will resign if he has another season like this.

i just don't see him turning it around lex. he has proven one thing in the last 7 years we can underachieve, with great talent.

I, too, hope that he'll make hires that will help us turn this thing around.

Do you really think he's stand up enough to throw in the towel if we don't produce next year, Lex? Honest question.

The news is that CUT is going to get a look from Kansas State. I heard he will get an interview if he wants, but I am not sure that is where he would want to go.
