Lane Kiffin is a Coach of the Year candidate
"The Vols aren't on the brink of knocking Florida off the perch in the SEC East, but they certainly have made a statement that they could be the second-best as they have drilled both Georgia (45-19) and South Carolina (31-13) in the past month, in what was supposed to be a brutal part of the UT schedule. Kiffin has also backed up a lot of the bluster by being competitive in a game at Florida where everyone was expecting Urban Meyer's team to get such payback and win 75-3. Then, Kiffin's team comes within a last-second blocked field goal of upsetting Alabama. Maybe most impressively has been Kiffin's work with his offense; he has helped to transform embattled Vol QB Jonathan Crompton into a capable quarterback."
Little something from ESPN.
Under Armour All-American safety Ahmad Dixon (Waco, Texas/Midway) also visited Tennessee over the weekend and the Vols are emerging as the team to beat for the 6-foot-1, 190-pounder. He will still take an official visit to Baylor, the school he is currently committed to, and plans to head to Alabama on the weekend of Nov. 21 when the Tide plays host to Chattanooga. Auburn and Florida also are in the mix to a certain extent.
Everyone knows that stuff. What did he say in there that would be surprising to anyone? If anything, Tennessee could be on the brink of knocking Florida off the perch assuming that means 2-3 years from now.
