Wow critical mistakes on the road will bury a team. That one basically turned the game. If you are not in an all out block coverage - back off and set up a return. Give credit to Arkansas as they capitalized on this “turnover” but what a bonehead mistake at a critical time.

Freshman mistake. Learning experience for Ross, but at the end of the day the defense could of still nutted up and stopped them but gave up a crucial FG

Although that was a pretty critical mistake I honestly don’t think that’s the reason we lost. We just aren’t as good as many had thought. The reason this one stings so bad is because I was one of the many people who thought we were a playoff team.

There were other opportunities to win of course but defense was gassed and kicking game mistake swung momentum. Again if you are not calling for a block - why risk this with a freshman? Ross is great and not blaming him but coaches learn from this too and avoid an unforced game changing error.

Squirrel let letting that punt hit the ground is what really put them in position to win. Offense couldn’t move and gave it right back to them near the 50. We start that drive near the 50 where the ball landed and we might score at least field goal if the offense doesn’t shoot itself in the foot. If not we pin them deep.

Once again, and we’ve seen this over and over, Tennessee makes a bench QB look like Pat Mahomes. Next week he’ll look like a pop warner qb playing in the NFL.

I thought he might have gotten blocked into the kicker but maybe I’m wrong.

I agree 100%. One of the dumbest penalties in football. Unless blocking the punt is do or die, just let the kicker get the ball off and take over on downs. Anyone with a brain knows that if you even breathe on him, he’s going to flop and get the call. We had a lot of dumb penalties but that one, and Karic running down the field like a wide receiver on the first play of the game, were probably the two dumbest ones.

I don't disagree, but I'll add the punt that White didn't field and let roll plus 2 balls that hit receivers hands that weren't caught. Granted they weren't perfect balls, but plays like that late separate winners from losers. We just don't have the play makers on offense. I'm extremely concerned about our WR room. If we have to run Bru out there with a heavily gloved hand with fingers taped together along with Thornton with a leg injury instead of guys like Nimrod, Matthews, etc, what does that say about the talent in that room? Speaking of youth, with White banged up, maybe we finally get to see Boo? I'd at least put him back there fielding punts. Something/anything to provide a spark given how anemic our offense is right now.

Poor technique. That could be because of poor coaching.

Possibly. I think it was a freshman just trying to do too much. Next punt return he did the correct technique.ind of like saying I did not kn

He blocked one earlier and used the correct technique, but did not Saturday.

Ross should have just had a blocking assignment on that play.

CKP will have to get Matthews and Nimrod ready for the Crocodiles.

Perhaps Seldon can return punts as well as kickoffs.
