I was reading over on the Kentucky Mensa meeting, Catspause, and saw that Tobias Harris had said he thought TB was better than Rupp.

Obviously, they disagree. What say you, VN?

That's what he's supposed to say, but there's no question that Rupp is a better atmosphere.

And I despise UK.

Why would anyone willingly go on CatsPause? Especially after a loss, I'm sure those morons are a.) complaining about the refs and b.) convincing themselves they lost because it was Florida's Super Bowl.

I'll say it's a wash. 20k+ crowds making 10k noise. Too many old people/casual fans that don't care. Honestly, the amount of morons you see leaving during the last media timeout during regulation and at the beginning of OT tells me all I need to know about the people going to our games. What a complete waste of your time investment.

That may be a true statement, but we blamed our inept point guard play ( on offense and defense) on the refs.

Physically, TBA is a much better facility than Rupp. The atmosphere however, isn't really that comparable. TBA can nearly match the Rupp atmosphere for big games against UK/UF and big out of conference games, but on a consistent basis that advantage goes to Rupp. I've been to TBA probably 15-20 times, and it certainly can shake the roof when things are right.

Whats sad about Rupp, is that it could indeed be the hardest place to play in the world, if all the blue hairs with walking sticks would give up their tickets to people who can still stand without assistance.

What you typed sounds like Neyland Stadium. Creepy!

I was impressed by the atmosphere the one time I went to Rupp. Thompson Boling is the nicer arena, but UK fans can make Rupp an extremely tough place to play.

I have a couple of business ventures that are coming to fruition, and the last 2 months have been round the clock getting stuff done. I probably haven't posted 5 times in the last month. Been having to watch games on DVR, but this season its a waste of time to watch a road game, it's the same old story.

Don't lie to yourselves........Rupp

As a basketball facility I'll take TBA 100 times out of 100. I will not factor in the teams that play there when comparing two buildings. The "atmosphere" at Rupp will be the same if they get a nicer place to play.

I wouldn't call Rupp a dump by no means. I love watching games in Rupp. Great atmosphere, and you can feel the tradition in there

It's not a dump, its just outdated. It has no amenities that corporate environments seek these days. Barnhart and Calipari are currently at odds with the Mayor of Lexington, over Rupp Arena. Mitch and Cal want a brand new arena (because UL has one), but the mayor just wants to renovate Rupp.

I dont know, When Tennessee fans are mad Thompson Bowling is a pretty crazy atmosphere. That was some of the loudest booing I have heard in a long, long time Saturday.

Rupp by a land slide. KY fans rock for every game, we only get excited for a few games. The atmosphere is consistently wild at Rupp.
