I don’t want to sound like an old fart “Get off my lawn” type person. However, here’s some common sense advice to those students and fans who decide to rush the field IF we beat Bama on Saturday. I am not against tearing one of the goal post down. I prefer we as fans act like we have done it before. However, I understand it’s been a long time and many younger fans have never experienced a big win in their lifetimes.

Please don’t tear up or pull chunks of grass from the field like was done in 98. Respect the field and players who will have to play on it for the remainder of the season. In 98 Jamal Lewis tore an ACL in the game the following week and admitted to the training staff that it was probably due to stepping in a divot that was created the week before. All I am saying is don’t do that this Saturday if the Vols win and you decide to go onto the field. Turf can’t be repaired that quickly for the following weeks. Just common sense.

Lewis tore his ACL 2 weeks later at Auburn, didn’t he?

If we win Saturday, you really think anyone in Neyland is going to care about the health of the grass? :D

Tennessee's Lewis Out For Season
“Lewis injured his right knee in Saturday's 17-9 victory over Auburn. An examination Monday revealed a torn lateral collateral ligament, and Lewis will have surgery Tuesday.”

:)
it’s always hilarious when “fans” try to remember stuff that didn’t happen or make up stuff that did. Same people who think Tee was better Qb than Casey Clausen or that Larry Seviers was better receiver than Carl Pickens

It’s been 15 years. Alabama is our most storied rival, and they are the best program by a mile over the past decade. We are rebuilding and this would be an absolute signature win, maybe the 1985 Sugar Bowl in this rebuild.

Storm away. Let the recruits see it. Get some hype!! (Pun intended)

The only way the field is not getting stormed is if we lose or up huge and the game is never close and the crowd has died down

He had a partial tear or sprain in the Houston game which was never admitted publicly. I know this for a fact. My daughter worked in the recruiting office as a student in 2006 and knew coach Fulmer. He told her that.

Any Tennessee Fan that leaves before the end of a Bama blowout, is a turd. That thought would never cross my mind, even if UT was up 100-0 in the 1st quarter, I am staying until the end of the game.

It’s just hilarious to me, the idea that the fans (including the drunken student section) would gather for a conference where reasonable minds weigh the consequences of those potential celebratory actions.”Guys, guys! Remember what jlbvols said! Jamal actually hurt his knee vs Houston because of the field conditions!”

If Hendon Hooker or any other player is injured by playing on a tore up field in the following weeks then you dumbasses who tore it up after the Bama game can celebrate that !!! Idiots !!! Like I said before for the dumbasses who have limited reading comprehension. Go ahead and tear the goalpost down but don’t tear up the field !!!
