Temple University Steve Addazio appears to be Rutgers U top candidate to replace Tampa bound Greg Schiano.
Addazio (former FL OC) led Temple to a 9-4 record in 2011 and was rumored to be the Illini's first choice in replacing Ron Zook.
Others in considerationa are:
Mario Cristobal (Rutger's staff 2001-2003), FIU HC.
Pat Flaherty, NY Giants O-Line Coach
James Franklin, VU HC
AND
Bobby Diaco, Notre Dame DC

I never want James Franklin to leave Vandy. I want him to stay and lose and whine every year. He's like a baby spurrier but without winning.

Why would Franklin leave an SEC school for Rutgers? As much as Vanderbilt sucks, I'd be way happier in Nashville, in the best conference in college football, than that God-forsaken radioactive state.

Addazio went 9-4 with Al Golden recruits, namely stud running back Bernard Pierce. Give him a little while, and he'll run it into the ground, just like he did to Florida's offense post-Mullen. NO WAY Franklin leaves Vandy for Rutgers at this point. Like him or hate him, he's done alot of improving around there, and he's finally got them willing to spend some of that money to invest in football. He can go alot higher than Rutgers from Vanderbilt, IMO. Cristobal would be a good hire for Rutgers, IMO. Or he could just let things play out, because FIU will be a BCS team sooner rather than later, IMO...

Cristobal would be the best hire Rutgers could make in this situation. Not sure if they have the cash even for him, though. From what I've heard/seen they're pretty cash-strapped at the moment athletically speaking.

Now it sounds like they're set to hire the current OL coach. Sucks that Cristobal decided to stay, but supposedly this should help keep their recruiting class together for the most part.

Cristobol is going to be a star IMO.

Mario Cristobal did a really good job building FIU. The program has flourished under him. IMO he will be a coaching Star in the very near future. FUI is very happy he turned down Rutgers, but other schools will be calling him for open HC positions next year.:twocents:
