Ryan Day, Ohio State facing disaster or finest hour in College Football Playoff
The Volunteers defense rates better than Michigan’s unit that limited Ohio State to 10 points and 252 yards. The Buckeyes remain without two starting offensive linemen due to injuries.

And that is why my confidence level was s high
I found this on an Ohio State forum and it's typical of how arrogant the B1G is about the SEC. They're discussing our D vs Michigan:

"While the basis of your argument is true, it's not very relevant to this Tennessee team imo. The Vols are more than one level away from Michigan's defense. There is no Mason Graham on that defense, and I trust Jackson and Fryar to isolate Pearce much better than our interior line did with Graham/Grant. No one knows Omari Thomas and Bryson Eason....maybe we will after the game, but they don't have the talent up the middle to expose our flaws without further adjustments like Michigan did. If they want to attack our weak spot, they're going to have to send a backer or bring a safety up, and as much as Howard has struggled at times I think that will burn them more times than not. If this was a road game, and we couldn't audible well, had to go with silent counts, etc. I would absolutely be more worried.

The Vols have a good defense, not a great defense, and certainly not one that should win their battles more than us."

Vols have a great shot at winning if they keep undisciplined penalties to a minimum.

I noted that in the thread about the ref crew.

Ohio State is one of the top ten least penalized teams. We're not. We're around 100 on the same list.

Execution. Turnovers. It's almost like a guy made maxims out of this stuff. 😉

Some dude pretending he's an analyst, when he's really just pulling stuff out of his butt. Per ESPN: TN #4 in Total D, MI not in top 10; MI #3 in Rushing D, TN #7; TN #4 in Scoring D, MI not in top 10; TN #5 in Third Down D, MI not in top 10.

Having said that, OSU is rated higher in most areas than we are, so I'm sure it's going to be a tough game in a tough environment in front of a national audience.

Banks should text that quote to every D player….

B1G fans, especially Ohio State fans, believe the SEC is useless outside of Bama and recently TX.

Whipping that butt in the trenches would make me smile.

It seems that schools are throwing these NIL figures like "20 million dollar roster" out just for marketing. I don't think Ohio State really has the most expensive roster in football. I don't think there is any way of knowing who does, because you don't see teams like Oregon and Tennessee throwing their numbers out there like that.

Osu also is almost dead last in refs calling flags against the other team in their match up’s. The B10 plays a completely different style of football then the sec, and that means waaaay less flags.

1 Mason Graham or six deep with guys who are just half a notch below Mason Graham. Hmmm…

I think I know which I’d take. Rude awakening coming for some Buckeyes.
