If you want to win the Heisman then you have to play...LSU stuck with Burrow in the 4th quarter when they were up by three TD's.

Good point.

The post season, both Heisman and playoff berths, are both decided by committee votes. That makes it a beauty contest, which alters perfectly logical behavior, like benching your star when you don't need him to just win. Now, the style points are just as important as the W.

How many years do you have to go back before this behavior occurred? Did coaches keep a guy in the game for the Heisman back in the '50s, or '60s? It's an interesting shift, perhaps not all for the good.

They stuck with Burrow because Ole Miss scored 30 points in the second half and totaled over 600 yards in offense. It was a 2 score game after LSU dominated the first half, in the 4th quarter.

I think that had more to do with it than the HT.

He should have sat for 4 weeks minimum after the ankle. He has tendon/ligament damage. Those injuries do not miraculously heal in 2 weeks. Just because they implant a support implant doesn’t mean he was ready for full contact. Could this have led to the hip injury? Maybe.

I’m shocked that the team physicians cleared him.

In my opinion Tua got Bud Kilmered

I agree he should have rested and rehabbed longer after his ankle surgery. Not sure it contributed to his current injury, though. Definitely can say it didn’t help.

I hate that this young man was injured. As much as I hate every thing crimson, I am not sure this is on Saban. After the Tennessee game injury, anyone with Tua's best interest at heart would have advised him to tell little Nicky goodbye and rehab for the combine.
The "fame" his father has with having two sons at QB for the Tide clouded his judgment. It is a shame Tua has a father like that.
