saban calling jalen hurd?

The standard operating procedure among SEC coaches, is to wait till BAMA offers and assume that is a football player that we want and need. The fact Butch was proactive in this case was noteworthy, even though this kid is pretty high up the food chain. When Butch is just as proactive and preemptive around 3* players that Saban wants and few know about, you're on your way.

Bless your heart.

Jalen would never see the field at Bama. Henry will pretty much be the featured back for the next three years. Even Yeldon will split time next year.

Probably what CNS was calling to tell him.

God $#*! You're dumb! First off, where you are seeing beach pix of the kid I don't know but check the pic I posted from an interview. He is 230 lbs plus. But I'm sure with your impeccable track record, you can just look at a pic and know the weight down the the ounce. Just stop because you're a fool!

So I take it you didn't see the beach pick? Dude is skinny. But believe what you wish. We shall see.

Whoever thought this up needs to step away from the bong and get a life. Bama and Saban do not set the standards! Things have worked out very good for them over the last few years...That's It! Look back a few years and see SMU and The Hurricanes. Things float on the top in toilets until they are flushed. That will be the case sooner or later. It's gonna take a program with a good coach with the will to do it. Is it Butch and the Vols? I hope, but only time will tell. If it's not someone else will step up and push that lever.

Comment objectively? LMFAO! Everything you say is subjective troll. TN must be putting the fear back in the SEC because every troll is on this site as much as real Vol fans.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Fla and Bammer are really afraid of us right now. Will be interesting to see how many of our commits jump ship once we lose to Oregon, Florida, Carolina, Alabama, etc. Remember, nobody is locked in yet. We need an upset badly!

I can be a fan and still comment objectively. I do think our team will show much improvement this year. There's some optimism for you.

So, since you haven't said yet, which team do you actually pull for?

Tennessee. You guys are being delusional fans, however. We are gonna get our teeth kicked in next year, yet many of you think this is 1998. It's gonna be a rough ride. Just being honest.

I hope you're right. I'm just taking into account Hurd's competition and his build. He's not your prototypical back. Henry is.

BS..District 9AAA alone provided plenty of "competition".. You can't say winning a state title in 5A while averaging over 52 points a game shows a lower level of competition..Just give Hurd his due and move on..I've seen him play many times and he IS the real deal..Period....

High school football in Tennessee is a joke compared to Louisiana (my home state), Texas, and Florida. So yes, I CAN say that winning a state title in Tennessee equates to lower competition. He's a solid pickup though. Would rather have had Fournette, but I guess we can't be too greedy.

I can second that! Played high school ball and have watched a ton but I have never seen a Jalen Hurd! Watched him play against north side last year in the semi final and he was amazing, then watched him play in the state final and he was even more amazing against two of the top schools in 5A. Very special kid and the one I wanted UT to get the most!

We can...don't care about what your Bama standards allow

You have been proved wrong over and over again, don't know why you keep saying he is skinny. He weighs 232 pounds right now, multiple reports and pictures have showed this.

You said earlier we're going to lose to S. Carolina. What are you basing that on if you're not trolling?

No Lattimore and Clowney barely existed against our O-line last year.

And we don't have Sunseri.

Just watch his highlights. He is thin. I see him ending up as a WR (he played some WR in high school) and kick returner. He is definitely fast. I don't see great lateral movement, and it's hard to tell if he can break tackles due to the weak competition in the videos. He has very good acceleration though. Like I said: a good pickup. But Fournette is the best RB in this class. Would be nice to get him. I hear he's still wide open in terms of where he goes.

Saban's recruiting success is undeniable, why not follow his lead. Fulmer used to take a run at every 4 and 5 star he could regardless of where they played HS ball. This is how we established ourselves in CA, TX, LA, NY, NJ, etc.

You need to get out and read more. Ask around about his last scrimmage. Ask Emmanuel Smith if Hurd can break a tackle. He is not thin, 232 pounds is nowhere near thin. Fournette may be the best back, but Hurd is right up there with him and is sought after from every school out there. Far from a "good" pick up. It is getting pretty comical at this point. I'm pretty sure you may be related to Fournette in some way, same school or something.

I just think we need to get another stud RB in this class.
