Because the great one learn how to adapt . Others don’t and win one championship when the foundation was set for multiple titles. For a 70 year old he sure as hell doesn't look or act like he's ready to retire. Saban has changed with the game every step of the way and he'll figure out how to use NIL and the portal to his advantage like every other thing
With NIL, transfer portal, etc he might be getting ready to say “*** this”.
The guy who follows Saban...oof.I kind of like it that he ripped them a new one. They are the most self-entitled, bandwagon fan base that there is. Beating two rivals by only 7 points just isn’t enough for them. Sign of the apocalypse. They think Bama should just show up and beat teams by 50 every week. There is going to be some real whining when Saban retires and the inevitable slide begins.
That's a very good paraphrase of what he just said.I kind of like it that he ripped them a new one. They are the most self-entitled, bandwagon fan base that there is. I doubt it. He ain't coaching for the money anymore, and hasn't been for many years. I think he is just super annoyed by their fans and boosters - I think he sees them as external factors that make his job harder.Saban may be a little pissier than usual after seeing coaches like Mel Tucker and James Franklin get "near Saban money" for decidedly less than Saban-like coaching careers.
I assume Alabama will just hand the keys and passwords to Regions Bank to Saban and walk off.
Definitely. It will be much worse than it was in the 80's, after Bryant's retirement/death. Bryant did have some down years in the middle of his tenure (1969 and 1970). Saban's consistency amid nonstop staff turnover has been remarkable. By the time the end finally comes, Alabama will have an entire generation of fans, who will see a 10-3 season as failure.I kind of like it that he ripped them a new one.
