"The first offense will cost the home school $100,000, the second $250,000 and $500,000 for subsequent violations. The league also announced all institutions will start with a clean slate in 2023."

SEC increases fines, adds security measures in an effort to stop fans from storming field, court.

Allows fans onto the field after visiting team and officials have left. A possible concession for Clemson if they ever join the SEC.

Fining the school isn't going to stop people from storming the field lol. Hyped up college kids aren't worried about their university's profitability.

The only way to stop it is for it to have some impact on the team or results of the game, which would be absurd.

Lol good luck with that.
On the one hand, it was AMAZING fun and a sense of total euphoria with the world’s weight off our collective fanbase’s shoulders. On the other hand, I hope we never have another REASON to do it…

Fans will gladly contribute to pay the fines (not everyone will but some will gladly do it), and that’ll help offset the school’s expense. Also, they’re never going to be able to have enough security down there to stop a mad rush of people without putting their own at tremendous safety risk, especially long enough for the to allow the visitors to exit. 😂

How about we lobby for a “Jermaine Burton rule” that allows one of our players to sucker punch a defenseless, yet obviously threatening small white chick who’s videoing the fun with her phone, and get away with it with impunity? Seems fair to me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

When Tennessee wins 10 and 12 games every year and throw a Natty in the urge to this storming the field insanity will stop.there mostly drunk students anyway and a few people trying to bring back their youth lol. I'm older could you see a 60 year old storming the field he would be trounced, I would die👀

Not sure this is aimed at us and I'll tell you why.

Our response after beating Bama was not just due to the effect it had on the season standings, as we all know. It wasn't just another important game. It was historical, because of our traditional rivalry, the looong drought since our last win and the fact that Bama is seen as the Goliath of cfb. The game itself (building and then losing the big lead, the back and forth, the miraculous final drive and score) turned Neyland into a pressure cooker. And because of all of that, the celebration that occurred was a spontaneous, genuinely effervescent eruption of raw emotion. It was epic. It was covered extensively in the media, not just in this country, but internationally.

The next week LSU stormed the field after beating Ole Miss. I remember thinking at the time (and it was probably discussed here) that it was a case of their fans wanting to participate in the kind of spectacle we had at Neyland.

I think this ruling is aimed more in response to the LSU game. Nobody storms the field after beating Ole Miss. The SEC saw that and knew they had to do something, or the next thing you know people would be storming the field after beating...well, I already said Ole Miss.

While I was there and enjoyed the celebration after the Bama win...I truly hope our program will once again be at the level where we never feel the need to "storm the field". I'm sure I am in the minority on this but after the jubilant respond to a victory results in a "field storming" and the emotions calm down...its actually the largest compliment we can pay our opponents IMO. Kind of like Rick Barnes says about chanting "OVERRATED" after beating a foe on the basketball court...you are actually diminishing your accomplishment by claiming the team you just beat IS NOT THAT GOOD AFTERALL. In the end...I hope we never feel the need to storm the court or field again because we realize our program did what it should do....beat our opponents. JMO of course.

Bunch of spineless little cowards carving up everything special about college sports for cash. They demand ever-increasing piles of our money and our support, but want us to sit like good children and never do anything that jeoaprdizes their precious money. They're the absolute worst. The. Absolute. Worst.

I hope they all have to pay through the nose, repeatedly, until this idiocy stops. I hope they spend a fortune on it. Nuts to this.

But what about the fines when fans savagely beat up Bama players????

What a joke.

They’ll have a fund, backed by an emergency fund, in the event Tennessee beats Georgia. Now should they beat all 3 then it truly won’t matter just like last season.

Somebody should post the video on whether or not Tennessee had extra goal posts for Alabama…

These mfers....

Anything else you want to kill about college football??

1) The school risks being sued if their security uses excessive force trying to uphold a rule.- That could well exceed 100k in legal fines.

2) Eat $#!+...

3) Most of these rush the field happenings aren't planned. So how would you know how much counter personnel you would need? There were 10s of thousands of UT fans still sitting in thw stands after we beat Bama.

Who gives a $#!+! —- In a 100,000 seat stadium with tix $70 = 7 MILLION dollars for ONE game! - Not to mention concessions & souvenirs! We could buy a new goal-post Every month/ week!

Just keep winning!!!!!!

Just have a barrel at each gate at Neyland before big games. Every fan drops in a dollar on their way in. Fine covered. Sort of like a swear jar. Call it a „Sankey Jar“

I don't know that it's the best way to rule or not. But, something needs to be done now.
Nobody wants our team on a field after a loss with 10,000 oft drunken fans celebrating and doing all the rest. It's going to lead to some really bad incidents. Too many people are too stupid, self centered, and bullying nowadays. They all will NOT win with class.

Instead storming the field after a big win I suggested everyone stand up, turn your back to the field. Drop your linen and give em the moon.
100,000 mooning curby would be awesome.
