Saban should have stuck with Hurts!!

Because they didn't change their team identity with Hurts.

Nor did they with Tua. There is a difference between what Bama is doing now with Tua and what they did with Wilson, McElroy, and McCarron. There isn't a difference between what they are doing with Tua and what they did with Sims, Coker, and Hurts. The same formations and concepts are there. They just call more pass plays because Tua is a better passer than any of the guys who came before him, and they have one of the greatest combinations of receivers in college history.

And that style of play is NOT going to win them any championships.

Lol. Yeah, it happened to be the biggest one of the year and Hurts was laying an egg.
It happens to every player, I remember Peyton laying quite a few eggs as well in big games. Running Hurts off for the hotshot young QB has NOT paid off for Alabama, Saban should have stuck with Hurts and took his chances.

That was one game, Hurts got em there.

I disagree. Bama's defense got them there. Bama's offensive output tanked starting in November of 2017. Bama lost the Iron Bowl, and thus the SEC, because the offense stagnated. Even the semifinal against Clemson was won thanks to an awesome defensive outing with a middling game from the offense.

Somebody should call Ed O and tell him LSU's offensive identity change is not getting it done.
Season is not over yet. LSU has big problems defensively, I think Ga will beat them in the SEC championship game and I think both Clemson and OSU will give them problems in the playoffs.

So, we're just going to pretend that LSU hasn't sniffed a title in 8 years prior to changing their offensive identity?

"Running off Hurts"

Did Saban force him to leave?

Couldn't Hurts have hung around and competed for the position?

Its ironic you used Peyton. Refresh my memory, what happened to Brandon Stewart?

You sound like the bunch around here, never giving Hurts credit when they win and giving him all the blame when they lose. There are many Alabama fans I know that were not happy with the way Alabama lost Hurts. I'm personally glad all the Alabama Tua fans got what they wanted. Every team in the SEC is happy Bama went to a pass 1st offense and left their physical dominating run game!

Which has jack to do with their identity change on offense.

Hurts was a great QB at Bama.
Hurts has been a great QB at OU.

Tua has been the same at Bama. Thus the reason why your OP is invalid.

Two Freshman competing for the QB position is not the same as a 26-2 veteran starter giving way to a hotshot Freshman.

They haven't had an SEC worthy QB the last 8 years until Joe came along.

They had Burrow last year, shoehorned him into the old identity, and got nowhere. As soon as the adjusted to his strengths, they took off.

Question: are you trying to make a legitimate argument, or is this subtle trolling?

Not at all. I love Jalen. Great guy. Great teammate. Great leader.

He simply is not as good as Tua, and only one guy can play QB at a time. I would have loved nothing more than for Jalen to have finished his career at Bama. But the reality of the modern QB position is that either Jalen or Tua was going to leave either this year or last. Tua was the obvious choice to build around.

There are many Alabama fans I know that were not happy with the way Alabama lost Hurts.

I'm not sure what "way" you mean.

"Every SEC team?" Only one SEC team has a win over Bama since Tua took over. Of the rest, only one stayed within 1 score of Bama, and Tua got hurt in that game.

I genuinely hope you're trolling. Your argument is just terrible.

No troll at all. I believe that Bama would have been better off sticking with their team leader in Hurts rather than giving the reigns to Tua. I said it would cost them last year and it did as they couldn't run the ball at all vs any decent defense and the same thing goes today. NOBODY fears bamas running game any longer and they are a weaker team because of it! That and we hired the best DC they've had in years!

Burrow was basically a Fr last year with hardly any experience at all. LSU will come back to earth next year unless they replace him with a bigtime QB recruit.

That's disappointing.

In what world has Bama been unable to run the ball the past two years? We had two backs drafted in April. This year started out slow because of musical chairs on the offensive line, but it's not like Bama played any close games, so it's not like it mattered.

Tennessee hired Kirby Smart? Have I been in a coma?
