Bears wanted him before his first NC at LSU. They weren't willing to give him Belichick type control back then...would now.

don't believe it..

the only job he would take after retiring from Bama is Commissioner of the Southeastern Conference

I could see Saban wanting another crack at the NFL after basically mastering the college level as well as anyone ever has but....it would have to be a franchise with a great young QB and a talented young defense. Say, Denver or some place like that... not NY.

Saban is a little wiser now about the NFL. I think he only would go where ownership is interested in pursuing the championship. NYG fits that, Denver does, NYJ & SD Chargers don't, more don't than do.

Saban would need total control...ain't getting that from Elway. Might not qualify also if the "great young QB" is a requirement. To be seen if Siemien or Lynch fit that description. Would totally eliminate the Bears.
