Sad news for Arkansas football

Heartbreaking! So sorry for the family. Have friends who lost their son in an ATV accident a few years ago. They can be so dangerous regardless of how familiar one is with its operations.

A friend of mine almost lost her life on a golf cart type vehicle. She loved to spin around and ride around on it in an open field in the country. She let her teenage son drive it. He turned in over and luckily her arm only got crushed underneath instead of more of her body. She has recovered but the pin marks and disfigured finger leaves a reminder that has kept her from ever getting back on. She doesn't even mention riding it anymore.

Ordinarily I do not want any agency more involved in our lives than they already are, but just as with farm tractors from not too long ago, why do these not automatically come with a built-in roll bar? The cost to include cannot be more than $75 to manufacturer and would save lives day one. Obviously, not a cure-all but would be a big help. So sad for this family and Razorback nation.

I worked with a man (age 37) who was killed on a 4 wheeler one weekend.

That was a tough Monday at work.
His family wanted to have his casket pulled on a trailer by 4 wheeler at the cemetery.
The cemetery told them no.
His nephew (3rd grade) was killed the next summer. He pulled up to a lifted box blade and didn't stop in time.
That was an even more difficult funeral.

Agreed. I broke my leg driving one back years ago. If the speed of those things doesn't get ya, driving through water or uneven terrain will..
My buddy has a 7 year old and he's on his second 2nd 4 wheeler. I keep trying to steer him to dirt bikes but mom won't have it. I was on a dirt bike from 5 to 17 years old. Got my motorcycle license at 15 and rode crotch rockets until I was 24 and decided it wasn't worth the risk, (got married and wife decided it wasn't worth the risk) Moral of the story I was on a bike for 19 years of my life and never had a serious accident or broke a bone and 4 wheelers suck.

I had a Kawasaki 200 Three-Wheeler when I was 12-16 yrs old.

How on earth I wasn't seriously injured on that is a miracle.

This is a sad story......Prayers to the family.
Reading the "unsafe" comments, I was surprised no one had mentioned 3-wheelers yet. . . maybe its just the 35+ people who remember them.

Idk how in the world they ever tested those things and thought they were safe enough to put on the market. Most people "think" they know how to ride. . . most people are wrong. . . but that's a side note, even experienced riders could get in trouble on those things real quick.

I got a pit bike for my little brother. I was riding it to make sure it was safe. I did about a 1ft jump and when I landed, the pin holding the peg up sheared off. Peg, facing the ground, went right into my ankle (which was bent sideways under full landing force). Pretty nasty injury for such a small bike and small jump. Gave him (and me) a good lesson that unexpected things can easily happen outside of your control.

I'm 33 and I remember. My older sister had one. I was never old enough to occupy it solo. Thank God.

I rode a three wheeler once. It turned by leaning to the outside of a turn. Designed by rednecks...for rednecks.

Yep. They're not a factor because nobody's using them.

It's tragic, for sure. Even if you don't "hit" anything immovable there's plenty of opportunity to hurt yourself.

I do see where two wheelers have some reasons why they're inherently safer offroad.
