Can anyone out there explain to me how Jeff Sagarin has Alabama rated higher than LSU right now? Bama has one loss, a weaker schedule and fewer top 10 & top 30 wins. If this is what his "computer" spits out, tell me again why we even pay attention to folks like him?

That info makes no sense. You almost have to really try and be that stupid. LSU is undefeated. They beat Bama. Bama should be ranked below LSU. My 6 year old can understand that. Only way it makes any sense is Jeff Sagarin must be profiting from his standings. SMH

Its a metric called game control, and is used to evaluate teams who don't have many losses. For example Florida has won a lot but several have been ugly wins with little control of the game. OSU and Alabama have ridiculously high game control even relative to their opponents. LSU gets dinged because of their SOS and the fact that they haven't been quite as dominant in a few games.

Probably scoring margin

That's enough to overcome a head to head loss and a weaker schedule? Seriously, if his algorithm gives Alabama extra points 'cause they blew out New Mexico State while LSU was beating Texas by a TD, then something's wrong

It adjusts for strength of schedule

LSU gets dinged for their SOS? Well, that can't be right. They've played arguably one of the toughest schedules in football.

For anyone who still pines for the glory days of the BCS, please remember that Sagarin's model was part of the formula. And his wasn't even the worst one.

@Sea Ray I have a 38 DA that I use in Lake Barkley in KY. Hope to one day move it to Knoxville. It's Vol Navy ready!

Mine's a 20 ft runabout. I'd love to upgrade to a cruiser after I get my kid through college. I wish she'd chosen Knoxville but her calling was animation, so she's at a much more expensive school in Savannah, GA.

Lol. Don’t you have a thread on here about your own ranking system?

I mean their game control is going to be worse because of who they have had to play
