Sal happy at FSU

Sal's D coaching can obviously work when you have DL that can get to the qb, fast lb's that cover ground, and db's that you can leave in space to make a tackle when you force a 5 yd throw on 3rd and 10.
We all know what most think about him, but rush the passer with j smith, cover the flats with AJ or Brewer, and leave Teague or Coleman by himself to make a tackle is not going to work for many coaches and isn't really the same as FSU and Bama talent/strength/speed/instinct.

Sunseri's comfort zone must be when his job is easy for him.

That's exactly what it sounds like. We all know talent makes things go smoother but his coaching was atrocious as well. Wilcox was able to mask this teams weakness's and that's what good coaching and scheme are for. He clearly loves getting paid for having to do so little. A job or accomplishment is more rewarding for me when I helped build it up, start it, etc.

"This is about recruiting. Don't let anybody kid you," Sunseri said. "You go into Tennessee and you could see there wasn't the talent that needed to be there."

No reason to hate Sunseri. If his defense would have been a little bit better than the worst ever, we would have probably won one more game somewhere, which would have been enough in Hart's mind to keep Dooley. Then, we'd have had a similar 2013 season but without the recruiting haul.

Yet, we somehow managed a much better defense the year before he got here and the year after he left.

The Missouri and Auburn games looked like his unit (and they won their divisions), but we looked much better the rest of the year.

Fla, UGA, USCe, Mizzou come to mind as one to two play games

So all sal has to have going for him to be successful is an offense that leads the nation in scoring, and coach in a conference with virtually no other good teams.

Given that the defense was better the year before he arrived as well as the year after he left. He should at least admit that it just didn't work out and not blame the players. He's right that the talent wasn't there to make it easy but blame Dooley, blame the switch to 3-4, hell, blame the rain before putting it on the players many of which were pretty talented even if the entire unit was lacking as a whole. It's not that hard to avoid coming across as lazy and excuse prone.

Disagree. You don't put 4-3 players in a 3-4 unless you have the skill set to run a 3-4. If he is too stupid (and proved it) to understand his talent available and what defense would be most effective...screw him!

I think his post was a bit sarcastic, but I could be wrong.

Lolz bet if the buck was a pastrami on rye he wouldn't be so quick to pass it.

Wow, a lot of these guys are ingrates and need to join the real world. "A lot of hard work and not that much fun" for what he was getting paid!? Tony B. is right about these guys....they are glorified PE teachers. The job Sal does could be done by a lot of countless people coaching in high school right now. Mike Leach started coaching because he said he saw a bunch of average guys with no real skills doing something he thought he could do having never even played football.
